Rob and Danny came from the United States to get married in Montreal at the beginning of the month. Danny was borned in Venezuela but the two lovebirds met in Texas five years ago, in the middle of the pandemic, and have been a couple (an irresistible one) ever since. I can't imagine anyone not liking them! They are funny, kind, attentive, cultivated, and have a deep love of art. This is undoubtedly what drew them to the Cabaret Lion d'Or, where the ceremony and the very festive reception that followed took place. And they chose Montreal because they love the town so much and Danny’s sister + few cousins live here.
So, I started the day by meeting them at the W Hotel in Old Montreal to take their couple's photos. Then it was off to the Cabaret Lion d'Or for the ceremony (which made them very nervous). They didn't want to neglect their guests who had come from all over the world (but mainly from the US) for the occasion. So that's why we started with the couple's photos in the early afternoon.
Rob & Danny’s wedding reception at the Cabaret Lion d'Or was a perfect reflection of their personalities: festive, generous, and surprising. The Art Deco venue is one of the few remaining 1930s cabarets in Montreal. The couple had asked their guests to dress in the style of that era. Danny and Rob had a few surprises in store for them: a jazzy band for the cocktail hour, a burlesque artist in the evening, a nine-piece band that was absolutely fantastic by the way and a dj from Toronto! We had so much fun, and the evening flew by so fast, that my assistant/boyfriend and I stayed an extra hour and a half because we were having just too much fun! We left past midnight but the evening ended at 3am!
