Did you know that Dunville, ON grower has been using wind power to help fuel their operation since 2006?

The turbine can produce up to 615 kW of electricity which is delivered directly to the greenhouses. This means less demand for energy from the power grid.

At the end of the day, they're letting Mother Nature help fuel the growth of the beautiful blooms produced.

Niagara-on-the-Lake is home to Virgil Greenhouses. This family run business is known for its beautiful ranunculus, butterfly, freesia, anemone and ponpon flowers. In fact, they are a leading supplier of freesia in the market.

Owner Pim and his team are striving to be innovative and eco-friendly in their approach to flower production. Trials of new flowers are done every year and innovative approaches to soil cooling and lighting management are making significant impacts on their production and output.

We love that they are enterprise, producing "cream of the crop" flowers destined for floral shops across Canada.
