Dear Valued Customer,
We would like to share an important update regarding recent labor policy changes in Colombia that affect the floriculture industry.
The Colombian government has announced a 23.7% increase in the national minimum wage, effective January 1, 2026. This is a significant increase compared to historical levels and will directly impact labor-intensive industries such as flower production.
In Colombia, labor accounts for approximately 50–60% of total flower production costs. As a result, this adjustment places additional pressure on growers, particularly at a time when the industry is already managing rising costs and currency fluctuations, while continuing to meet high standards of quality, sustainability, and social responsibility.
Despite these challenges, the Colombian floriculture sector has a long track record of resilience and adaptability. Growers remain committed to maintaining reliable supply, consistent quality, and strong partnerships with their customers worldwide.
We truly appreciate your continued trust and support. Please feel free to reach out if you have any questions or would like to discuss this further.
Wishing you a successful and prosperous 2026.
Warm regards,
Your team trade floral
