Job Title: Summer Student – Flower Shop Assistant

💐Location: 112 Ellen Street, Miramichi
💐Duration: 9 Weeks (Summer Position)
💐Schedule: Tuesday to Saturday, approx. 30 hours per week

Job Description:

We are seeking a responsible, independent, and motivated individual to join our flower shop team. This position provides valuable experience in customer service, retail operations, and flower/plant care in a busy floral shop environment. The successful candidate will play an important role in the day-to-day running of the store.

Key Responsibilities:

Open and close the store independently as required.
Assist customers in-store with purchases and inquiries.
Support the florist with general in-store tasks, including processing flowers (no floral design required).
Maintain the freshness and quality of flowers and plants.
Water and care for indoor and outdoor plants.
Assist with exterior planting and upkeep.
Keep the shop clean, organized, and visually appealing.
Operate the POS and handle basic retail transactions.

Qualifications:

Able to work independently and take initiative.
Strong communication and customer service skills.
Comfortable interacting with customers in sensitive situations.
Reliable, organized, and detail-oriented.
Ability to perform light physical work (lifting, standing for extended periods).
