25 Years Behind the Camera 🤍📷 🎉🎉
I’ve been thinking a lot lately about how incredibly lucky I am to say that I’ve been doing this for 25 years.
The funny thing is… I have absolutely no idea what the exact date was that I officially started! 😂. I know it was May or June of 2001. I came from a completely enclosed bubble to the real world where the one thing familiar was our farm/ranch, a camera, parents & siblings.
I started at 8/9 yrs old with a 120mm Kodak camera shooting family & friends then helping and shooting alongside Gary Houston in Cypress Hills, learning, watching, practicing posing and lighting.
This photo is extra special to me because I’m holding the very first professional camera I ever owned. Gary took me to JD Color in Medicine Hat to buy it, and somehow, all these years later, I STILL have it — and I still use it to shoot 35mm film. 🤍
Twenty-five years later, I’ve photographed hundreds of families, couples, seniors, weddings, babies, milestones and all of those little moments that become the memories we hold onto forever. This is the reason to this day I do this not to create art but for you the client to have memories!
To my friends and family who encouraged me in the beginning, to the clients who trusted me with their memories, to the families who have come back year after year, and to everyone who has recommended me to someone else — thank you.
You have allowed me to do something I truly love for 25 years, and I am so incredibly grateful.
So, because this anniversary is really about YOU, I want to ask:
What would YOU like to see for my 25-year anniversary?
Would you love to see:
📷 A special discount on sessions?
🤍 A 25-year anniversary sale?
✨ A special anniversary package?
🎉 A giveaway or something completely different?
I’d genuinely love to hear what would make you excited to book a session and celebrate 25 years of MBB Photography with me.
Tell me what you’d love to see in the comments!
After 25 years, I’m still holding a camera, still learning, still creating, and still incredibly grateful that I get to do this for a living.
Here’s to the next chapter. 🥂📷
Thank you for 25 amazing years.
