Surely one of the most special bouquets we’ll ever make 🤍

Yesterday our dear Jasmine said “I do”! If you’ve been around here (our corner of the Instagram world) for a nice while, you’ll know that Jasmine has been our right hand woman for the past few years. I think it was 4 years ago now when I was feeling a little stumped trying to hire a designer to join Tania Floral. When talking it over with my brother, he asked… “can’t you just head hunt someone?”. First off “head hunt” seemed way too serious for flowers and secondly… well, ya! I guess I could!
This lead me down a rabbit hole. Texting and emailing everyone who I thought might know about the woman behind Studio Desert Honey (). Jas had taken a brief reprieve from flowers but I was determined to find her, propose and lock on for dear life.
And that’s kind of what I did. I’m so glad she was also looking for flower love!
Anyway, that more or less takes us to May 30th, 2026!

It was her wedding day and I had the absolutely honour in designing the flowers for her big day. JD was brave. Her plans for the day were thoughtful, intentional and intimate. Favourite flower types were mentioned, the bouquet was to be mainly pink, and direction given in terms of the colour palette for their ceremony and reception. Apart from discussing arrangements and work we’ve loved over the years, freedom and trust was given. Just omit roses and ensure eremurus***!

Designing for a fellow florist and dear, dear friend comes with nerves but we are very thankful to report that Jas loved her flowers! We are so thrilled to share this video from the morning of. The light illuminated this bouquet in a way I’ll never forget! Everything was following Jasmine and Marc’s lead.

I am unfathomly grateful for days like yesterday that change our flower loving hearts in so many, deep, meaningful ways. Believe me when I say that we’ve blown so many kisses into the sky. Love is so great and it’s a darn privilege witnessing so much of it! Happy June all. Let’s stay close to the love in our corners ❤️❤️❤️

Lilacs! Tulips! Violas! Isn’t Spring just the best!?

We’ve been soaking up the season and taking our time getting to know this old house, the gardens, how the light moves…

Turns out practicing the art of noticing while moving at baby pace goes together like peas and carrots.

Oh the thrill of dyeing eggs! It is wild just how much joy an egg tree brings. If you’re looking for a gorgeous way to decorate your home for Easter, this is it ✨

Here’s our how to:

1. Pick up your dye supplies! You’ll need your veg, vinegar and panty hose. We experimented with purple cabbage, beets, yellow & red onion, tumeric and lichen.

The recipe we used for our eggs was:

- 2 cups cabbage/packed onion skins/lichen, enough water to cover, 1 tbsp of double strength vinegar.

- For the lichen & yellow onion, I saved the dye and mixed 2 cups of lichen with 4 tbsp of the yellow onion dye.

2. Boil ingredients in a pot (we used a 2.5 qt) for 20 minutes, strain, then simmer for another 10 minutes. Allow to cool.

3. Next hollow out all of your eggs using a sewing needle. You will need to prick and make a hole at each end of the egg, big enough so that you can blow the yolk+white out! This is a bit cumbersome but it was nice to be able to find the time!? I used the hem of a thick, cloth napkin to protect my thumb when making the holes!

4. Gather leaves, flowers, grass etc. for your pattern. We used cilantro, crocus, and some leaves and grasses we found outside.

5. Cut pieces of panty hose starting from the toe. Roughly double the size of an egg.

6. Get your leaves/petals a tad wet and then place on the egg. Wrap, twist and tie with pantyhose to keep your pattern in place.

7. Once dye has cooled, place your pantyhose eggs in a mason jar and poor the dye right up to the top. Let sit for 15 - 24 hours! We did 24 hours each time.

8. Unwrap, lightly rinse and allow to air dry

9. Rub with olive oil for a little shine and to bring out the color.

For our tree, we found a magical apple branch in the forest, placed it in a heavy vase and hung each egg with fishing line.

There you have it… a sweet Spring craft, perfect for Easter! We’ll definitely leave ours up for a couple weeks ✨✨

Steph and Matt matching the beauty of a summer wedding day with colourful, gorgeous florals!

From the colour blocked bridesmaid bouquets to the bridal which was full of movement and soft pastels - their flowers captured how their day was felt!

A little tip to keep in mind when planning your wedding florals… The estate at this venue had a lot going on in terms of balconies and exterior staircases. I’ve seen many couples struggle with ceremony design when the backdrop is busy. Steph’s vision was perfection! She planned for ground florals along the aisle and to punctuate the seating of their string quartet. This soft, whimsy design translated wonderfully, brought romance to the outdoor space and was so elegant - no need to compete with the venue as the backdrop. All of the florals were also repurposed to the head table at the reception, which is always a cherry on top! 🍒🌹

Don’t worry - we came out on top but one word of advice to all of the aspiring wedding florists out there… carabiner!!!

Sweetheart Yvonne turned 4!

Our little songstress and the best big sister; watching this beautiful force run through life is the greatest gift. Feeling so tender about her these days, as our family has grown and she’s embraced the change with arms wide open. Each morning she wakes looking to bring love to her sister and she fills the room for us all, in an instant.

Joy is so much deeper than I ever anticipated ❤️. So grateful to watch the years roll by with this one at the helm! ❤️❤️
