On Thanksgiving Eve, Kevin Daly died after battling brain cancer.

The 69-year-old musician was a badass guitarist who slung punk, rock ‘n’ roll, and rockabilly tunes in several bands over the years.

What made Daly the coolest, though, was the sincerity with which he approached those endeavors and the people he encountered.

It is with great sorrow that we report the passing of our brother Kevin Daly. Between his bands The Hoods, Grant and the Geezerz, and Hellfire he participated in dozens of Mersey Productions’ shows from 1981-1989. Hellfire provided the track “Tombstone” for the Placebo Records compilation LP “More Coffee For The Politicians” in 1985. Kevin was a great guitarist, multi talented entertainer, a crack wit and a quality individual in every way.
Kevin was a painter by trade for many years and did several commercial jobs for Tony including the current paint job at Western States Ticket Service.
In March, Kevin met with Tony and Michael P to discuss plans to perform at a Club Placebo Hootenanny even as he continued his battle against cancer.
Kevin is already dearly missed by everyone in the Placebo circle and our hearts are with his family, his friends and his fans today.
Rest in peace old friend.
