There’s something pretty magical about getting married at low tide on the Bay of Fundy!

Caleigh + Riley came in from Alberta with their closest family and friends for an intimate June elopement at Evangeline Beach in Grand-Pré. With the Bay of Fundy’s rich red basin revealed at low tide and the Blomidon Cliffs as their backdrop, we gathered on the beach for a ceremony that was completely them: personal, meaningful, intentional, and full of humour.

Getting to hear a couple’s story and then help tell it through their ceremony is one of the greatest privileges of what I do. 🩵

And the details were everything. The month of June was chosen for their elopement because peonies are Caleigh’s favourite flower, so her bouquet was filled with vibrant, Nova Scotia-grown peonies from a local floral farmer. Her wedding dress featured beautiful embroidery inspired by East Coast nautical colours, while Riley wore personalized socks featuring their sweet pup. 🐾

There was also me, doing what I apparently do best: finding heart-shaped rocks on the beach. I swear, I have an uncanny ability. 🩵

Summer elopements on the beach are hard to beat. 🌊

Mary-Clare + Colin flew in from the Cayman Islands to get married East Coast style, and their Nova Scotia elopement became a beautiful full-circle moment.

Mary-Clare’s Nonna immigrated from Italy to Nova Scotia through Pier 21, creating a life and legacy that continues through her family today. So bringing Mary-Clare back to Nova Scotia to begin this next chapter felt especially meaningful.

And Nova Scotia did not disappoint.

Crystal Crescent Beach gave us powdery white sand, salty blue water, and purple-pink skies that put on quite a show.

The details were every bit as personal:

• Locally grown blooms
• A red-carpet-worthy gown with a cathedral-length veil + lush bolero cape
• A handfasting ceremony with cords representing loyalty, kindness + LOVE
• Personal vows
• Happy tears + champagne

I have the absolute pleasure of curating intimate, one-of-a-kind elopements for couples who share that little sparkle and sense of adventure. ✨

Jessica + Jag 🤍 travelled from Ontario to get married at Polly’s Cove, bringing 20 of their favourite people along for the adventure.

Nova Scotia has always held a special place in their hearts, so there was something pretty perfect about saying their vows here, surrounded by the people who mean the most to them.

And this day was GOOOOOOOD.

Sunny skies. Clear blue water. Personal vows. Happy tears. Lots of laughter. And a ring warming ceremony where their rings travelled through the hands of every guest, each person adding a little love, a blessing and their best wishes before the rings made their way back to Jessica + Jag.

It was personal, meaningful and so completely them.

And the love between these two? You could feel it. Everyone could.

Krystol Bell captured this day so beautifully, and honestly… just wait until you see the drone footage. 😍

TEN YEARS 🩷✨

As I celebrate 10 years of Married by Shannon, I'm feeling incredibly grateful. This milestone didn't happen on my own, it exists because so many wonderful people have been part of the journey.

Thank you to every couple who trusted me with one of the most meaningful moments of your lives. It has been an honour to tell your love stories, celebrate your journey, and be part of memories you'll cherish forever.

To the amazingly talented photographers who so generously share their beautiful work, thank you for capturing these unforgettable moments and allowing me to relive them through your lens.

To my fellow wedding professionals, planners, coordinators, venues, florists, DJs, musicians, photographers, videographers, and my incredible officiant colleagues; thank you for your support, referrals, encouragement, and for making every wedding day such a joy to be part of.

It’s time to celebrate! 🎉

June marks 10 years of Married by Shannon. This gorgeous photo was my very first wedding. Jennifer + Doug's elopement was the kind of ceremony that dreams are made of - dappled sunlight streaming through the trees, under a marble gazebo in the middle of forested gardens at Gramercy Mansion.

Over the past decade, I’ve had the incredible privilege of officiating more than 150 weddings and being invited into one of the most meaningful moments in a couple’s life.

Ten years feels like a milestone worth celebrating… and I’m seriously considering buying myself a cake. 🎂

As I look ahead, I’m feeling grateful, excited, and reminded of why I started this journey in the first place.
