I’ve been sitting here feeling so thankful that Kelowna is safe and fire free, but my heart is breaking for Summerland and Peachland, Two of my favourite little towns in the Okanagan.

This all takes me back to the Kelowna fires in 2023. Our home in Glenmore was right on the border of the evacuation zone, and I remember how scary and almost apocalyptic everything felt. Neighbours, classmates and friends were evacuated, wondering if they’d have a home to come back to and what would happen to their livelihoods.

It also takes me back to the Merritt fire in 2021, when I was working at a hotel that was hosting evacuees. I remember seeing the same people three times a day, every day, for months. We got to know them and their families, and some stayed with us right through until October because there was nothing for them to go back to.

So seeing what’s happening now hits a little differently. Homes are gone, Families are evacuated and wondering what happens next. Vacations that people have planned and saved for all year are being cancelled. Weddings are being postponed, the beautiful Punta Notre is gone and I’ve been sitting here like everyone else thinking, what can I actually do?

I can’t fix any of this. But I can help one couple.

If you’re a couple who has had to completely cancel or postpone your wedding because you’ve been directly impacted by the wildfires, I’d like to offer my wedding day coordination services completely FREE.

Whether you were evacuated, your venue was affected, roads were closed, or your wedding plans have simply been completely turned upside down because of the fires, I’d love to take one thing off your plate.

I know how much time, money and emotion goes into planning a wedding. Having to suddenly put all of that on hold or start over because of something completely outside of your control is heartbreaking.

So if I can help make the process of starting over just a little bit easier, I’d really love to. Please email me with your story, original wedding date and future wedding date. I do have limited availability for 2027 because of existing bookings and commitments, so the new date will need to work with my availability.

Some weddings are beautiful. Some feel like something much bigger. Payton and Liam’s wedding was a family reunion, a week-long celebration and a day filled with intention.

A smoky August day in Kelowna, with blue sky peeking through, set the scene for a week designed around bringing their Ontario and Prairie families together. Golf, workout classes, the Wibit and plenty of time together. The wedding was simply the beautiful finale.

Private vows over early coffee. A rooftop first look. Intimate family photos with their closest 20, including four siblings on each side. Close-up magic from Ryan Michael Magic during cocktail hour. And instead of a receiving line, the newlyweds handed out mimosas to their guests, making every detail personal.

From heartfelt speeches by their parents, two maids of honour and two best men, to Kevin, the brother-in-law whose mission was keeping the dance floor packed all night (spoiler: he absolutely killed it 🤘🏻), and the groom’s brothers taking on MC duties, everyone had a part to play.

Payton and Liam, thank you for letting me be part of such a meaningful day 🤍

One thing about me… I’m gonna jump in the lake.

Fully dressed, full face of makeup, hair extensions, no towel.

Do I prefer it to be 30° and sunny? Absolutely. But let’s be real… I’ve done it in April. I’ve done it in January. I’ll do it whenever the mood hits.

Today I was driving home after a private event. It was 37°. I’d spent the day in a beautiful air-conditioned house, was spoiled by a private chef, sipped some delicious fancy wine… and all I could think about on the drive home was jumping in the lake.

So I pulled over, walked in fully clothed, and just floated for a bit.

This is why I love what I do.

On a wedding day, I’m in my own little world. I’m watching the timeline, running around like a madman, solving problems before anyone notices them, checking on vendors, fluffing dresses, calming nerves, and making sure everything runs exactly as it should. We honestly don’t get much time to chat that day because my focus is completely on you.

Then, after it’s all over, I receive messages like these.

Every thank you, every kind word, and every review reminds me why I pour so much into every wedding. Your appreciation means more than you know.

Thank you for trusting me with one of the biggest days of your life. It truly never gets old.
