This New Moon is an eclipse, creating an exceptional opportunity for spiritual development.

When an eclipse steals the outer light, we are called upon to keep the inner light burning more intensely until the outer light returns. We become responsible for carrying the light through the darkness.

This theme is reflected beautifully through both hemispheres.
In the Northern Hemisphere, Leo 21 — Solar Communion reminds us that we are each a flame of the same Sun. Our individual light is not separate from the light in others. When we recognize and strengthen that shared radiance, illumination increases.

In the Southern Hemisphere, Aquarius 21 — Guardian of Hope asks us to maintain faith when the light cannot yet be seen. Hope becomes more than optimism; it becomes a spiritual responsibility. We hold the lantern when others cannot see the dawn.

Maybe where you are, the Perseids will be lighting up the night sky. ☄️✨ Here in the Okanagan, our smoky skies may keep us from seeing much of the show, but I still love knowing it is happening above us, even when we can’t see it.

Not everything has to be visible to be real. We can hold the lanterns of love and of healing and good wishes in our hearts and send energy and our prayers and some hero’s in the community have been there with tangible hands on help

Even if the smoke hides the Perseids from us here in the Okanagan, I still love knowing they’re there. Some things are worth looking up for anyway. ✨

And with all this smoke comes the much more serious reality of the fires themselves.

I am sending out love and hope and healing to everyone who has been displaced, frightened, or affected, and so much gratitude to those working to keep our communities safe.

Tomorrow, August 12, there is a New Moon and a total solar eclipse. I’m a little extra drawn to this one because I’m a Leo myself, born August 13. ♌️❤️ So an eclipse in Leo, right on the eve of my birthday, with the Perseid meteor shower filling the night sky with shooting stars, feels especially meaningful to me.

They hadn’t been dating long before Brad asked if he could buy her a ring, and the rest is becoming a favourite chapter in their story.

Their beautiful ceremony at Belgo Wedding Chapel in Kelowna was full of laughter. When it was time to say “I do,” Brad jokingly started to walk away… and when it was Jessica’s turn, she took off for a little run through the gardens before racing back to marry him! 😂

Their heartfelt vows were completely off the cuff, and instead of “till death do us part,” they chose words that promised love for all eternity. It was joyful, playful, romantic… and so perfectly them.

Congratulations, Brad & Jessica. Keep on being lighthearted and making each other laugh. 🤍✨

Some wedding days are calm… and some arrive with a little extra personality. 🌬️💕

Heather & Jarrett’s ceremony at McDonald’s Acres in the beautiful Joe Rich area of Kelowna was definitely the latter. The wind danced through the trees, tugged at veils, lifted hair, and added its own soundtrack to a day already overflowing with love.

It made me think that marriage is a little like the wind. You can’t always predict which way life will blow, but when you’ve found the right person, you don’t spend your energy fighting every gust. Instead, you lean into it together, laugh when your hair goes sideways, hold on to each other a little tighter, and keep moving forward.

Congratulations, Heather & Jarrett! May your love always be the steady anchor that lets you enjoy every adventure life sends your way… even the windy ones. ❤️

In a world where so many love stories begin with a swipe, Sydney and Alex’s began somewhere much rarer… in middle school! They have already been together for 14 years! Longer than half their lives.

Fourteen years later, they seem to still have the same playful, energy that first brought them together. They joked with each other in their vows and watching them laugh together and cry happy tears and celebrate with their family and friends, and dance back up the aisle as newlyweds, I couldn’t help but think that playful childlike spirit is the secret ingredient to a lasting relationship. Never lose the fun!

Hillcrest Farm Market has unbelievably delicious frozen dishes, fresh cherries and cherry juice. A scrumptious restaurant and very sweet staff and family. What a spectacular place to begin the next chapter of their lives. Hillcrest Farm Market, nestled among rows of luscious ripe cherry trees with sweeping Okanagan views, provided an unforgettable backdrop for a day filled with love.

Before the ceremony even began, Jeff Hay 🇨🇦 | Wedding DJ in Kelowna had everyone smiling with the perfect pre-ceremony playlist. Great music has a way of setting the tone, putting guests at ease, and building that wonderful feeling that something special is just moments away.

Meanwhile, Okanagan Wedding Photographer was stealthily everywhere at once, capturing the hugs, the laughter, the happy tears, and all those beautiful little moments that become lifelong memories.

It was such an honour to stand with Sydney and Alex as they officially began this next adventure together. Congratulations to you both… and may you always keep that middle school magic alive. ❤️🍒

Sometimes the best seat in the house isn’t a front-row chair. Sometimes it’s a John Deere tractor overlooking the Okanagan, waiting for a wedding rehearsal to begin. 🌾💚

Today I’m up at the beautiful Hillcrest Farm Market on Highway 33, where they have the most delicious cherries and yummy food at their epic cafe. Hillcrest Farm Market It seems every year this venue becomes even more breathtaking. The views stretch for miles, the property keeps growing, and it’s easy to imagine why couples fall in love with this place. There is a sweet new smaller structure being built for more intimate smaller weddings too!

(Jeff Hay) was there at the rehearsal. He will be having the party hopping tomorrow and today he was there to help us rehearse with the ceremony music.
It is important to have the music at your rehearsals to help with the mood and timing. Jeff gave some gentle and wise guidance and played a few epic tunes which the couple have chosen for the ceremony. I particularly liked the instrumental version of “You Got a Friend in Me “ for the bridal party to walk in with.

Tomorrow, I’ll have the honour of marrying Sydney and Alex. Their love story began back in middle school, and after 14 years together, they finally get to say “I do.”

What a perfect place for the next chapter to begin. ❤️
