Hi 👋 It’s your Slumber Squad, popping in to share a bit more about our story and why this little business holds such a huge place in our hearts.
For those who know the girls and me personally, you know we lost their Daddy three years ago. Learning how to navigate life as a solo parent while grieving my husband and raising grieving children has been its own kind of storm and sunrise. This past year, I found myself quietly asking the universe for an opportunity that could support us financially without taking me further away from the girls.
Then last spring, a tiny spark appeared. A hole in the market for themed sleepover parties. A whisper of, “Maybe this is it.” My intuition didn’t yell. It nodded.
So we listened.
The past six months of building this business as a mom-and-daughters trio has given us so much more than a side hustle. It’s given us a new way to bond, to play, to create, and to feel joy again. Every theme we design, every tent we fluff, every party we set up has become one more stitch in our family’s healing quilt.
And, in true us-fashion, we found a way to tie Slumber Squad back to the memory of their Dad. Now that we’ve covered most of our start-up costs, every bit of income we earn goes straight into our “Do It For Daddy Dream Jar Trip” — our yearly adventure where we chase something new together in his honour.
Slumber Squad isn’t just a business for us. It’s connection. It’s creativity. It’s healing. It’s family.
And before I wrap up, I want to say thank you. To everyone who has booked with us, shared our page, cheered us on, or invited us into your celebrations — you’ve given our little family more than you know. Your support has helped us build something meaningful, joyful, and healing. We’re so grateful you’re part of our Slumber Squad story. 💛✨
