Got to chat with this lovely lady for a while today. Sandra Day! She’s gonna be mad I posted this but..oh well. She’s a very special person in this world. In my humble opinion, there are bluegrass organizations that bestow every award under the sun for everything imaginable…except for one: Bluegrass Fan of the Year. My dad told me 35 years ago when I first started playing professionally, “Al, if you’re not connecting with the audience (fans and bluegrass grinners), you might as well just stay home.” Musicians, without fans, is like a baseball game in an empty stadium… unsustainable. It’s friends and fans like Sandra that make doing what we so special. . Maybe organizations will consider adding Bluegrass Fan of the Year. Sandra, you’d have our vote! Love ya! Hope to see you soon. Thanks to the 🇨🇦 bluegrass family for getting her to the shows!!
