Did you know October is Small Business Month in Canada? 🇨🇦 Let's celebrate the incredible small businesses that act as the backbone of our community right here in High River! 🏡❤️

Our local business owners are our neighbors, friends, and community builders who work hard every day to make our town a better place to live.

This October, let's challenge ourselves to explore somewhere new:
🚶‍♂️ Take a stroll down our streets and explore local storefronts.
🛍️ Finally check out that new shop you’ve been meaning to visit.
🤝 Discover unique products made right around the corner!

With over 15,000 people calling High River home, imagine the impact if just 1% of us visited a new local business this month! That small act of support helps our neighbors put their kids into local sports teams ⚽, helps businesses give back to local charities 🤲, and allows them to hire more local employees 💼.

If you want High River to continue being a vibrant, thriving hub, let's show up for our community. Make sure you stop into a new local business this October! 👇

Which local spot are you planning to visit first?

I'm really hoping this gorgeous weather keeps up through the weekend so I can get in a few walks on the trails around town before all the leaves fall! 🌲👟

What’s your favourite thing about autumn? A warm cup of coffee or tea on a patio? The smell of cinnamon or pumpkin wafting from bakeries? The rustle of dry leaves blowing in the wind? Or something else? Let us know below! 👇😊

Today is a time to pause and reflect on our shared history; honoring those who came before us by remembering the past, and learning how to move forward together. Every child matters. 🧡

Did you know the Highwood Centre is a registered non-profit charity? 🏢❤️

When looking for event spaces in High River, choosing a non-profit venue is a wonderful way to give back while you celebrate. Rental fees go straight back into maintaining these historic/community buildings and supporting local initiatives.

Here are three fantastic local non-profit spaces you can rent for your next gathering:

The Highwood Centre (Us!): A versatile space that can be transformed from an intimate hall for small parties into a full-sized gala venue. They also feature a stage and sound system, making it ideal for live performances.

Eamon's Garage: Located on the northern outskirts of High River, this historic building offers a truly unique setting. You can rent their showroom and garage space for parties, gatherings, and meetings.

The Masonic Hall: A great open space with affordable hourly rentals available. It’s perfect for short-term events, workshops, or ongoing weekly classes and community groups.

Each of these spaces is run by a dedicated local non-profit organization, and is perfect for different types of events!
