I went foraging for wild Hazelnuts the other day before Nature beat me to it, my patch of wild Blueberries however were mostly enjoyed before I did, lol. But the patch is growing each year, a bit overgrown this year so trimming back some young trees is in order this week. I'm going to make some Pesto with the Hazelnuts and try to glacé some for dessert as well. I'll post those recipes, first tho...gotta clean these.

An economical way to enjoy quality herbs year round is to buy fresh herbs on sale, and dry them on your own. I find that the quality is much better and they taste less bitter, and I use them more often. I regularly dry my own thyme, rosemary and sage. You can use them to prepare your own roast potato fixins, salad dressings and flavoured oils. Very handy for controlling your sodium intake vs salt laced ready made brands. I also burn dried sage I've dried in my kitchen, very aromatic, soothing and covers that occasional oops burnt smell.

Here's a helpful webpage if you'd like to try it out for yourself.
