Last night, we celebrated five inspiring mental health champions who are making a difference in communities across Nova Scotia.

Congratulations to our 2026 Let’s Keep Talking Award recipients: Keonté Beals, Anne Marie Coolen, Louann Link, Marg Murray, and Evan Treffler.

Through advocacy, lived experience, leadership, and connection, each is helping to create communities where people feel seen, heard, and supported.

The U.S. Consulate General Halifax team proudly joined over 100 local business and community leaders onboard the Harbour Queen for the Downtown Halifax Business Commission's 2026 AGM. Beyond the beautiful views and great company, we were deeply moved to receive one of the inaugural Downtown Halifax “Business Achievement” Awards for our years of service to this vibrant community.

Did you know the U.S. Consulate General in Halifax was established all the way back in 1833? As the first and oldest U.S. diplomatic presence in what was then British North America, we have been proud to call downtown Halifax home for nearly two centuries, working side-by-side with our neighbors, local businesses, and partners to strengthen the enduring bond between Atlantic Canada and the United States.

Congratulations to our fellow long-standing business recipients who share this honor with us - from landmarks established in the 1800s to modern community pillars. Thank you, DHBC, for this wonderful recognition of our shared history.
