As I sit here burning the midnight oil trying to catch up on some admin work, I realize today (or well, I guess yesterday now) was the very first event I did solo after buying Polished Events.

Since then, I have decorated (in some capacity) for 45 events. I can hardly believe it.

This first year has been such a learning curve & I’m still learning.

Navigating a career change, (while still doing whats involved with keeping my nursing license), learning to run a business, all the while managing a rotational household, 2 small kids, extra curriculars, aging parents, & volunteering - there’s days I truly don’t know how I’m going to get it all done & truthfully, a lot of the days, I don’t. However, one thing that never gets old is seeing my clients light up at the sight of their wedding venues. That makes it all worth it every single time.

I say it’s been a year since my first solo event but I, of course, mean as the new owner. I rarely do events alone - I have a fantastic group of people who I can call on to help & without them, I’d never be able to do this. Thank you, Thank you, Thank you 🙏 We will celebrate you guys when things slow down (So….. see you in January?? 😅)

Shelby & I first crossed paths in nursing school and she told me when I bought Polished Events to consider myself booked for their big day (keeping in mind they weren’t even engaged yet 😂). Not long after, Nathan did pop the question & here we are!

Shelby & I have connected over both losing our Mom’s at a young age so I of course was on board with creating a special tribute to her beautiful Mama. Showcasing the very tiara she wore on her own Wedding Day - it’s safe to say there weren’t many dry eyes in the house.

It was a great time getting to actually attend one of my Clients weddings and it was such a pleasure working with you guys.

The week started off calling for some pretty nasty weather but it ended up being the most beautiful fall day - a perfect day to celebrate a beautiful couple.

I always tell my Brides I do not check the weather until 2 days or so before the big day. Even if I’m not doing any outdoor set ups, I still hate to see poor weather on their wedding days.

However, it was unavoidable to catch the forecast this week with all the posts about this potential weather system coming our way.

But, could it have turned out to be a more beautiful day for Late October?!

The most beautiful autumn views on my drive to & from Triton today. (My first time down this way too - nice to finally see the stompin’ grounds of some old nursing colleagues! In my defence, driving back & forth to Springdale daily for almost 3 years is probably why I never ventured out this way leisurely 😂 but nonetheless, a beautiful drive!)

Wedding 16 of the season is underway!

I am going to be away from my page until Tuesday as I am doing double duty the weekend; Headed West, Decorating (& attending!) a dear friend’s wedding in Roberts Arm/Triton and headed East to Gander for my daughters first figure skating competition of the season!

Monday again…. 😴

The end is near for the 2026 Wedding Season - just 3 weddings left!

Final prep happening today for Wedding #16 this weekend.

The next 3 weeks are going to be extremely busy - 3 weddings & 2 other larger events so apologies If there’s any delays in responses to messages.

As well, this is your friendly reminder of deadlines (ie; Payment deadlines (14 days prior unless otherwise stated in your contract) & Deadline for changes (60 days unless otherwise stated in your contract)). Also, if you have a quote, be mindful they are only valid for 30 days & your date is not secured without a deposit! Don’t hesitate to check in if you have any questions or need to request changes. Bookings for 2027 is likely to pick up soon and I hate to see people disappointed when their dates aren’t available.

If you’re a recent client of mine and haven’t yet left a review - it would be so greatly appreciated! Booking season is upon us and future clients refer to reviews so often when choosing vendors. 🙏

Last but not least, Christmas Party bookings are limited so don’t delay if you’re considering booking! We can do anything from a simple backdrop for photos to the full package.
