A few beauties that went out into the world today. I have picked buckets and buckets of blooms this week. It kinda amazes me how many flowers are growing here on our little flower farm.

I know it doesn't look like much. This is my first time cutting Eucalyptus that I grew from seed. I usually buy plants every spring but they haven't been good the last few years. So I thought I'd try again to grow from seed. My supply is very limited so if you get a piece in your arrangement, consider yourself very privileged.

End product! Gorgeous bouquet. Working back to focal flowers and layout of the ingredients so you can see how it all starts and ends. I decided not to add some of the darks and switched in lighter stems.

Excuse me! I need that flower. Bees generally wake up around 10 am. I guess I'll come back later.

Year in review finally. Here's Nov and Dec. Each year ends kinda ugly. The flowers are gone. Spring bulbs are planted. We said bye to our indian runners ducks. You may see them down in the Oak Bay area. The hard work of digging and closing the farm down for the winter takes most of Nov and part of Dec. Dahlias are a huge job, we remove all the plastic from the high tunnels and store it away until March/April.

This year, I did slip away at the end Nov for a little girl trip South. A well needed rest before tackling the rest of the dahlia dividing.

Well, that's it for 2024. I had to end with a flower pic even though I did not grow them. We are now gearing up to do it all over again. Hello seed packages, dirt, corms, baby plants, grow lights, broken nails and one really tired out self!!

Year in review continues into June. The gardens really start to show off!! The ranunculus overshadow every other beautiful bloom. And there are so many beautiful blooms. Lilacs, Solomons Seal, allium, iris are abundant. Tulips start to wind down and peonies start to wind up.
Thousands of seedlings are planted out and taking off. High tunnels all have their plastic back on and are the ideal environment for heat loving annuals.
