Helium is inert. It does not react with any other element. It is also an extremely light gas and so you won't find it anywhere in any significant quantities other than in the atmosphere where it is about 5 parts per million. It is hard to find outside the upper atmosphere and it isn't released in any significant amounts during any chemical, industrial, or biological process.

It has few environmental impacts on the planet -- other than some minor roles in the upper atmosphere, some nuclear decay bi-products, and maybe making your voice sound funny. No natural or man-made process can really alter the amount of He in the atmosphere, so its affects on the environment are constant.
