DESSAU - THE NELSON MANDELA AND MUHAMMAD ALI BRANDED BELT TO BE COMPETED SOON

WABA's newly appointed Vice President responsible for commercial matters has announced that the organization's Supreme World Championship Belt, dedicated to Nelson Mandela and Muhammad Ali, will soon be contested, featuring two former world champions.

Dessau stated that the Supreme World Championship belt will be fought for by the two boxers, aiming to crown the oldest Supreme World Champion, thereby reviving the excitement in boxing that was prevalent in the 1990s and 2000s.

The Denmark-based WABA Vice President, currently on a working visit to Tanzania, is strategizing the organization in pursuit of digital transformation that aligns with the interests of Generation Z.

Nelson Mandela, the first democratically elected President of South Africa, who was once a heavyweight boxer, and Muhammad Ali, a three-time world heavyweight champion, are both posthumous patrons of WABA.

Both figures have been icons of boxing and human rights, having endured significant hardships while advocating for the freedom of others. Nelson Mandela was imprisoned for 27 years and later became the first democratically elected President of the Rainbow Nation of South Africa.

Having these two icons associated with the sport of boxing elevates the sport to an unprecedented level of esteem, remarked Martin Dessau.
