Barnstorm

Barnstorm A small annual music festival featuring alternative country, rock, folk, ambient, instrumental

Once a year, usually the first Saturday before Labour Day Weekend, our 150-year-old barn, the “Odditorium”, located at “The Sanctuary” in Finch, Ontario, comes to life with friends, locals, and music lovers at Barnstorm. Live bands of various genres, along with DJ’s in the “Chill Zone” spinning tunes, make Barnstorm Music Festival an event you won’t want to miss.

Just a few more posts off topic that I think Barnstorm fans may like. After months of planning, and perhaps 45 years of collecting CKCU junk, I can reveal what has been in the works. There is an artifact display in the Atrium at the National Arts Centre / Centre national des Arts until November 13th in support of CKCU’s 50th Anniversary which also coincides with our annual Funding Drive. There is also a LIVE performance from the atrium as well, this coming Saturday from 10 am to noon. Thanks to Optimal Show Experience for providing the giant radio. Check it out,

Psst. Sorry to bother you. I've said it before, where I usually like to stay on topic when it's a speciality page such as this. However, I think all music lovers and independant thinkers might think this is of value.

Independent Media Matters. Now More Than Ever
CKCU's 2025 Funding Drive | Celebrating 50 Years

NEW My goal is $5,500.00, and some may be happy, but if I don't make my goal, I'll fire myself!
For 50 years, CKCU has been a trusted voice in our community. We amplify local music, underrepresented stories, and independent journalism. As Canada's first campus-based FM radio station, we have built a legacy rooted in people, participation, and purpose.

At a time when media consolidation is increasing and local coverage is disappearing, CKCU remains free, accessible, and community-powered. We believe that independent media is essential for culture, democracy, and connection.

Your donation helps:

Keep diverse voices on the air
Support emerging media makers
Strengthen Canada's independent media sector

As we mark 50 years of impact, you're helping to make sure this work continues for generations to come.

Thank you. TIC

Missed Barnstorm, but don’t worry —I still had a pawsome day at Eastway Pet Resort Limoges running around and making memories. 🐶💖
