Today kickstarts Amazon Prime Days and while I know we all love an amazing deal, I would encourage you to pause for even a split second before adding to cart.

I’d like to think there’s a certain strength that us entrepreneurs have, but with it also comes a lot of risk. Lots of fear of the unknowns and “what ifs”.

Amazon will always be there. The convenience, the two-day shipping, the endless scroll — it’s not going anywhere. But the boutique down the street? The shoppe run by someone who knows your name, who stayed up until midnight tagging new arrivals, who prayed over her inventory order and hoped she guessed right on what you’d love? That magic is a little more delicate.

I’m not asking you to never shop Amazon. I’ll be the first to admit that a blue vest makes its way to our front porch every now and again.
