Happy New Year! I hope everyone is doing well and navigating 2022 so far.

Saying that, I’m just putting out a reminder about mask filters - that fit into your Whimsy cloth masks, and are recommended for extra protection when wearing cloth masks.

We carry 3 types of filters / inserts, available in both adult and kid sizes:

1. PM 2.5 Disposable Filters: made of an activated carbon layer sandwiched between 4 layers of melt-blown cotton. These are commercially produced, and are selling for $1/each or $8/10 - for our local pickup clients.

2. Light Inserts: reusable hand-sewn 2 layer inserts consisting of one layer of 100% cotton and a second layer of 100% polypropylene.

3. Warm Inserts: reusable hand-sewn 2 layer filters consisting of one layer of 100% cotton flannelette and a second layer of 100% polypropylene. These are great for outdoor workers or to turn your Whimsy mask into a “scarf-like face covering.”

Reusable filter inserts are on special in January for $1/each for our local pickup clients, are machine wash gentle (recommended in a structured bag), and iron on low - on the cotton/flannelette side only! Recommended to replace when the polypropylene layer appears to be deteriorating.

MASK SPECIAL: Each mask purchased in January will come with your choice of a reusable filter, or disposable filter - for FREE.

On top of yesterday’s new prints, I have brought in some more of last year’s favourites - including more Harry Potter holiday, winter guineas and our famous sugar cookie prints!

We sold out of most of these (especially in adult sizes) early on last year - so if you missed out then, you can grab some this year!

Adult masks are $13.50 and kid masks are $11.00.

Hey my masking family! Sorry for not posting for a while there. I trust you I’ve been slowly working on all your custom requests, and thank you all for staying in touch and refreshing your mask collection as needed.

Although I didn’t bring in a ton of new fabric, I did bring in these cute prints for the - including a print!

Adult L/XL sized traditionally fit adults with larger/longer/oval faces, including most men (even with facial hair), and expressive talkers who normally fit a smaller size - and are fully adjustable. Check the sizing chart if you have questions.

Just letting you all know that I will be back from vacation on August 23.

I can take custom back-to-school mask orders on in-stock patterns, and will be hosting a sale for all my ready-made masks upon my return.

I know it’s been a bit long since my last post, so I just wanted to check in!

We are still making custom masks upon request for individuals and businesses, and will continue to do this in the future. So don’t hesitate to contact us for orders, even if you don’t see a recent post!

Here are some of the cute recent masks that went out!

News: We have just received some new eco-friendly biodegradable plant-based “plastic-like” packaging, which all of our new products will be packaged in (see upper-right photo for the new packaging) going forward.

I’ve always wanted to find a way to protect the products for shipping and pickup, without adding to the mass plastic waste we humans produce, so I was soooo happy to find a Canadian company which makes these plant-based sleeves. So now, when you are done with the clear packaging that your mask arrives in, you can just remove the label, and put the whole bag in your compost/food waste bins. Yay!

Here are some other details to share:
- Everyone is navigating the changes in restrictions and comfort levels differently - so be kind and respectful to your community.
- There are very likely going to be circumstances going forward where masks are encouraged or required - so don’t throw them all away yet!
- Now that we have masks on hand, people are finding new ways to use them: using them to reduce inhaled particulate on smoky days, lawn mowing debris or other gardening activities, and my favourite: when my kid wears one when I put hairspray or spray on sunscreen on her 😂🤣
- If you feel you have too many masks, you can tear apart your least-favourite patterns, recycle the nose wire, and either reuse the fabric and elastic for small products, or toss them. Some other ideas include using them to make Barbie clothes and scrunchies!

Just a heads up, I’m heading away to BC for a couple weeks in the middle of August, and have been busy balancing my dream job and shuffling around my kid to summer camps - so my turnaround might be a little longer depending on the day.

Well that crept up quickly! Reminder: is just over a week away! In celebration, I’m offering 20% off these Dad-favourite prints!

These masks normally range from $12.50-14.00 each. Now (until Father’s Day) these prints are going for $10.00- 11.20 each. Includes all orders paid for, but for pickup following those dates.

Everyone is buzzing with the news that second vaccine dose appointments have now opened up!

Coincidentally the timing worked out perfect, as I’m sending out a bunch of these custom masks this week. I did order a little extra of the ✔️ and patterns.

Got our new custom fabric in today - and everything is gorgeous!
