🦬 The Edmonton Convention Centre's newest public art installation has landed - but here’s the twist, it’s been here before!

Paskwamostos, a 12-foot stainless steel bison sculpture by renowned artist Joe Fafard, now stands tall once again overlooking the Edmonton River Valley, inviting you to pause and reflect.

More than just public art, Paskwamostos is a powerful symbol of resilience and cultural legacy - and a reminder that just 45 minutes east of Edmonton at Elk Island National Park, you can witness real bison roaming free on protected land.

This sculpture connects us to our land, our history, and the wild spirit of the prairies.

Today, on International Day of Clean Air, we’re proud to share the Edmonton Convention Centre’s progress in creating a cleaner, greener future.

Key highlights from 2024:
✅ A 45% reduction means ECC reduced 3425.1 MT carbon equivalent since 2018, which is equivalent to 8397 homes' electricity use for one year.
✅ 8.8 T CO₂e offset from air travel emissions through certified carbon offsets.
✅ 15% reduction of emissions in a single year (2023–2024).
At ECC, we’re proving that world-class events and climate action go hand-in-hand. 💚
