Picked up a new lens 200-500mm a couple of months ago with the intention of shooting a few critters. Shooting said critters at 60yards in the low light of winter combined with handholding around 8lbs of camera and lens has its own challenges. Certainly a project for 2023. The wide elk shots were a chance happening of the Waterton herd that is reported to be 800 strong now. They are very skittish compared to their people friendly cousins in Jasper and Banff (probably why there are 800 of them)
