Your competitors have a plan. Do you? 👀📈

There are a multitude of reasons why creating a marketing plan is crucial for the success of your business. In short, your marketing plan is the blueprint containing your marketing strategies, costs, and expected results. It helps you to focus on your targets so that you can improve your revenue and performance. No plan = chaos! 🫨

1. Creating Measurable Business Goals: Without a clear target, you can’t implement strategies to achieve your business goals. Define your goals and how you can work towards reaching them.

2. Sticking With Your Budget: Your budget is imperative in spending your money on effective strategies that yield the best results, rather than throwing money at activities that don’t work!

3. Analyze Your Competition: Knowing your competitors strengths and weaknesses can provide you with an advantage in setting yourself apart. Ask yourself, why should a customer choose your business and not your competitors?

4. Identifies Your Target Audience: Who are you selling to? Establish your niche and identify how you can effectively appeal to those customer demographics.

5. Improves Branding Consistency: Regardless of the size of your team, a marketing plan ensures everyone is on the same page when it comes to achieving your business goals and communicating your brand in a consistent, recognizable way across every channel.

Many business owners don’t know how much of their budget they should be allocating to marketing.

If you’re feeling overwhelmed and unsure where to start, have no fear. That’s what we’re here for!

First, ensure you’ve established your brand. Building a brand isn’t just for the big companies! It’s your foundation and your identity, regardless of your business size or industry. It’s your first impression and conveys credibility.

Next, determine what kind of business you are. If you’re a mature and established business with consistent cash flow, you can likely spend a little less to continue maintaining your stance in the industry.

Startup and growth-mode businesses may have to spend more, especially for initial branding and further development. Focus on expansion and strategic growth.

B2B businesses can include service providers, consultants, and marketing (like us! 👋) while B2C likely encompasses most of your favourite small businesses selling directly to consumers. Think your local bakery, your go-to family-owned restaurant, or a local clothing store.

Keep in mind that this is a rough guide. Do your research before you dive in and make sure your marketing choices are effective. Better yet, let us do the heavy lifting!

The scroll is faster. Attention spans are shorter. And the platforms? Always evolving. Here’s your straight-to-the-point breakdown of what’s in (and what’s out) so far this year ⬇️:

WHAT’S IN:
✅ Short-form video – Still king. Reels, TikToks, & Shorts. Video gets 2x more engagement than any other content.
✅ UGC (User-Generated Content) – 84% of consumers say it impacts their buying decisions.
✅ AI-powered content + scheduling – Smarter, faster, and more streamlined. But with that said, do NOT make the mistake of losing your brand voice or the authenticity that keeps your audience connected.
✅ LinkedIn thought leadership – Organic reach is up, and 59% of B2B marketers call it their #1 platform.
✅ Interactive content – Polls, quizzes, and AMA’s engagement boosters that double session time.

WHAT’S OUT:
❌ “Perfect” curated feeds – Over-polished is over. Real wins. (Don’t misinterpret us here; we still think it’s important to stay brand-aligned, but in a more authentic and less curated way.)
❌ Generic brand-speak – If it sounds like everyone else, it’s invisible.
❌ Posting without strategy – Data > vibes.
❌ Hashtag stuffing – #20 . Platforms are smarter. Your strategy should be too. We also are noticing keywords as being MUCH more effective than hashtags.

What else would you add? 💡 Follow along to learn more.
