I’ve been thinking about sharing this video for a long time. I’ve been in the wedding industry for 15 years and this industry standard has always bothered me and I’ve worked against it with pricing transparency my whole career.
Now, it’s more important than ever and I feel strongly that couples are being taken advantage of with this poor industry practice.
I have always been willing to lose business by being up front with my costs. I would rather a couple say “no” to the Pendennis and pick a venue that’s in their budget. But, instead, people are being misled with pricing that “start at” X, and they never get to see what everything will cost once they add it all in.
