Call her Queen!! We are so thrilled to have Ndidi O at the 2025 Islands Folk Festival. Catch Ndidi with her band at 8pm on the Islands Stage. And search up “Call Me Queen” and “No Mercy” if you want to feel strong today.

Ndidi Onukwulu is Ndidi O, a two-time Juno nominee and WCMA Blues Artist of the Year whose musicianship blends crunchy blues riffs and powerhouse vocals with the foot-stomping rhythms of roots and Americana. Her releases include five full-length albums and multiple singles as part of her trip hop duo BOGA.

Originally hailing from Burns Lake, BC, Ndidi has toured nationally and internationally playing festivals and concert halls. Her songs have been featured in several high-profile shows, such as Orange is the New Black, The Flash (CW), Cloak & Dagger (Hulu), and most recently Self Made: Inspired by the Life of Madame C.J. Walker (Netflix), starring Octavia Spencer.

We are so happy to announce that Ndidi O and her band will be bringing their soulful sounds to the 2025 Islands Folk Festival, playing shows and leading workshops on Saturday and Sunday.

Here is the revised full schedule for the 2025 Islands Folk Festival! New this year are the participatory garden workshops (guitar, bluegrass, flatpicking, yoga, soundbath, mandolin, spoons, washboard) and we will have more than 10 guitars that people can borrow and share for the purposes of the workshops. Also, an open mic on the Heritage Stage.

We are excited to announce that these two exceptional musicians will be joining us at the Islands Folk Festival this year! Ella Korth is quickly becoming known as an artist in her own right but also she is the rare young musician in demand as a touring and recording musician for other recording artists and performers.

And having recently relocated to the Cowichan Valley, Adam Dobres is the neighbourhood genius! His steadfast committment to his music has led him to produce some of the most beautiful and fully realized steel-string guitar music we have ever heard. Make sure you catch his lullaby set after Boy Golden on Saturday night.
