Drayton Valley to Honor Local Icons: Brian Winder, Alex Blais, and Garry Nelson Named Inaugural Hall of Fame Inductees.
DRAYTON VALLEY, AB — The Drayton Valley Thunder Hockey Club and the Drayton Valley Community Hockey Association (DVCHA), in partnership with the Hall of Fame Selection Committee, are proud to announce the first-ever class of the Drayton Valley Hall of Fame. Local legends Brian Winder, Alex Blais, and Garry Nelson have been selected as the inaugural inductees for their extraordinary contributions, leadership, and lifelong dedication to our community. The induction will take place during a landmark event titled "Legends Night," scheduled for February 20, 2026.
The Drayton Valley Hall of Fame was established to recognize individuals who have demonstrated exceptional service and achievement, leaving an indelible mark on the region. This first group of inductees represents the spirit of Drayton Valley, spanning decades of impact across athletics, community building, and civic growth.
A Night for the History Books
"Legends Night" will serve as a formal gala to celebrate these three giants of the community. Hosted at the Mackenzie Centre, the evening will include a formal induction ceremony and a retrospective of their achievements. This event marks a significant moment for the region as it begins a new tradition of honoring the builders and leaders who helped write the history of Drayton Valley.
