As we have recently announced Here at Kitchen Door, we have been forced into a pending closure as we wait for our primary lending partner to call our loans. For those that have purchased gift cards, we invite you to email [email protected] by this Thursday at 9 am with your card number and a "wishlist" of our food shop meals that you would like us to pack up on your behalf.

We are still uncertain as to our future however, in good faith, we wanted to allow our clients the opportunity, on a first come, first serve basis, the ability to receive our prepared meals that we currently have in stock for outstanding gift card balances. We cannot guarantee any specific items, however, we will do our best to provide what is on your wish list for products and should those not be available, we will substitute inventory that is available once specific inventory items are gone. Please know the bulk of our current inventory is soups and stews with some frozen meals and desserts/pastries.

Please have your gift card number and wishlist emailed by 9 am Thursday July 4, 2024. The ONLY pick up window available is Friday, July 5, 2024 from 2-4 pm at our location at 110 Higney Avenue in Dartmouth. Unfortunately, delivery is not available.

It is with profound sadness that we announce the pending closure of operations at Kitchen Door.

After 16 years of proudly serving our community, this decision has been forced upon us due to the unfortunate circumstances surrounding our financial situation and the additional debt taken during the global pandemic, which severely impacted our operations and changed the landscape of the food & hospitality industry.

In 2019, Kitchen Door moved into our brand new space in Dartmouth – it was extremely exciting and we were set for exponential growth. Thirteen months later, the Covid-19 pandemic arrived and presented unprecedented challenges to our business, significantly impacting our revenue streams and ability to sustain operations. Despite our best efforts to adapt and persevere through these turbulent times, the economic repercussions proved insurmountable.

Regrettably, our primary lender has informed us they are calling in our loans and have most recently reduced our Operating Line of Credit, leaving us no choice but to pause operations until we can work through a solution, if at all possible. We wanted to explore a creditor proposal that would allow the company to continue operations while restructuring the debt and provide a plan to move forward; however, our lending partner informed us they are not interested in that option.

We are deeply grateful to our loyal customers, suppliers, and our amazing team who have been an integral part of Kitchen Door's journey and growth over the past 16 years. Their unwavering support and commitment have been invaluable and deeply appreciated.

While we hope that there can be an amenable solution that allows us to keep operating and continue forward, we are unable to provide a path forward until we hear from our lender.

To our cherished clients who entrusted us with their special events and to our regular clients who choose us to prepare delicious and nutritious meals for their families, we extend our heartfelt apologies for the current situation and are hopeful there will be a solution.

We thank you for your understanding and support during this difficult time.
