Uh-oh. The dahlias overwintered with great success. Now: potting up. Be ready for the plant sale in May when they'll ready to be taken home 😊 (without the hassle of digging/storage/starting/potting)

The brushcutters keeping our roads clear did an extra good job this year! So much that this gem was found in the brush in front of the Comox Valley Exhibition Ground, about 3k away from the farm. The last time these would have been used was in the late 90s/early 00s!

No rest for the wicked! Trialing a small winter sown planting, so we may see some early blooms :) its all about trial and error with this job, so here's hoping its all trial, and no error!

All tucked in! Multi-season overwintered dahlias are the the most challenging to divide because the clumps have multiplied so many times, they're all crammed together, often you get fewer usable tubers after all the breakage getting them apart.
Summer flowers feels far away, but the groundwork for lots of blooms starts now!

Before your tubers get stored or moved, double-check that every variety is labeled (and still readable!). It’s amazing how fast tags fade or get lost, or grow legs and run away! Next spring you’ll thank yourself for the few extra minutes today.
