Meet our Maître D and Operations Leader, Matthieu Arteau.

A former Montrealer and restaurant owner with more than two decades in hospitality, Matthieu brings serious front-of-house expertise and plenty of charisma and charm to Gold & Fife × Oliver Farms events.

Having worked across restaurants, luxury hotels and private members’ clubs in Montréal, Toronto and Miami including Michelin-starred Saito in Toronto and LSL alongside Chef Didier Leroy, Matthieu understands that an exceptional dining experience relies as much on how guests feel taken care of as what comes out of the kitchen.

He stewards our front of house: the flow, timing, service standards, guest experience and all the details that make an ambitious event feel seamless.

It’s an important distinction for us. We bring extraordinary chefs into extraordinary settings, but the experience has to live up to what’s on the plate. Strong, thoughtful service is part of every Oliver Farms and Gold & Fife event we execute.

Matthieu brings that standard along with the kind of big-hearted Québécois hospitality that simply can’t be taught.

When he’s not with us, you can now find him lending his expertise to Maître Cuisinier de France Didier Leroy at the newly opened The French Kitchen in Toronto.

We highly recommend paying them a visit and letting Matthieu & Chef Didier take care of you.
