💍 My last wedding of the season was a beautiful one — and a first for me at the historic Haviland Club.

🌸 The flower girl nearly stole the show with her irresistible sweetness, wandering down the aisle like she owned the place. But somehow, the moment the bride appeared — absolutely radiant — everything shifted. The love between her and her groom filled the room in a way nothing else could.

🐾 This couple loves a good adventure, and they made sure their ceremony reflected that — including a special (and very adorable) mention of their dog, Blue. The guests’ giggles were instant.

💒 As their marriage commissioner, it was an honour to celebrate such a heartfelt, joy-filled day with them. What a perfect way to close out the season.

💍 Some weddings are planned down to the last detail — and others unfold with a little seaside serendipity! Earlier this year, I officiated a windswept ceremony at Covehead Lighthouse — sand flying, hair whipping in the breeze — where the groom enlisted a kite surfer dripping in wetsuit and goggles, and a tourist out for a stroll, to serve as witnesses. At the time, I kept the couple anonymous, since they had a religious wedding planned later in the year.

We had an amazing experience with Elizabeth, and we find ourselves reminiscing about it months later now. We met Elizabeth while we were looking to become civilly married before our religious wedding later in the year, and we were met with great communication, openness, and flexibility to fit our needs and what we were looking for. She helped to guide us through the steps and fees for everything we needed to make it possible, and it was very easy to book with her and find a time for the day.

When we met in person, she was very warm and welcoming, and she had everything we needed ready for us. Although Elizabeth offered to provide the two necessary witnesses, my fiancé and I wanted the adventure of finding them on the spot, and Elizabeth was open to it as well. We had the ceremony on the beach in PEI, and we met some of the most wonderful people to share our moment with and to be our witnesses, both of which have become a special part of our story.

Thank you Elizabeth for helping to make it an easy, simple, and very special experience for us, we would do it again in a heartbeat!

Fun Story: Coincidence or Meant to Be? 🤔

🖼️ Over 10 years ago, I bought a frame at Value Village that looked like a charming window to hang on the wall. I swapped out the original photo for one I took 📸 myself at Covehead Beach🏖️.

🛠️My kids never loved the frame, and since we were renovating last fall, I decided it was time to return it to Value Village so someone else could enjoy it.

⏩Fast forward to this past Saturday—at the wedding rehearsal 💍 for Robyn and Colton. It was so hot outside they moved the rehearsal to their cool basement. As we gathered, I spotted my old window frame hanging on their wall—with my Covehead Beach photo inside! 😲

Colton had picked up the same lovely frame at Value Village last fall, and just like me, he thought it was one of a kind ❤️.

Coincidence? Or maybe it was meant to be. 💛✨

💍 This wedding couple has chosen to remain anonymous, as they have a planned religious ceremony this fall.
We met on the beach… and still had one task left — find two witnesses!

✨The groom took care of that, recruiting a kite surfer still dripping in a wetsuit and goggles, and a tourist out for a quiet walk while his wife read nearby. The tourist laughed, “She is never going to believe I ended up in a wedding at Covehead Lighthouse!”
Luckily, the couple had packed a Polaroid and sent him off with proof in hand!

📿Partway through the ceremony, the bride’s necklace broke, and we all found ourselves searching the sand for her cross. She joked and said, “Who knew I’d be looking for Jesus at the beach?”

💒As their marriage commissioner, I was happy to fit in this last-minute ceremony between two others that weekend — how could I say no to a love story like this?
