A bride never wants to show up at her venue the day before the wedding, ready to set up, only to realize that things aren’t quite as organized as expected! 😅

Definitely not the start to the setup anyone had planned!

But this bride and her crew rose to the occasion, worked through a little confusion, and got everything sorted. The rehearsal went really well, too, once we got everyone where they needed to be. 😊

And now, everything is coming together for tomorrow. I have a feeling it’s going to be spectacular!

Sometimes weddings don’t go exactly according to plan — but a great couple, a good crew, and a little flexibility can turn things around. ❤️

Tomorrow is the big day, and I can’t wait to see it all come together!

Some wedding days don’t go quite according to plan—and sometimes those are the ones you remember most. ❤️

John & Wendy shared this wonderful story about their wedding day:

“We had chosen Elizabeth for our wedding based on the clear pricing and ceremony details. We wanted the least expensive one. Our wedding budget was very inexpensive. We chose to spend on other things. We had forgotten our wedding certificate the day of the wedding. When Elizabeth asked me for it I panicked. Rather than embarrassing us in front of our guests that were waiting in the Garage. Yes Garage. We decided to write up a fake license so we could continue the ceremony. And Elizabeth met us on another date to sign the actual certificate.

Memories don’t come from spending wads of cash at your wedding but the memories that are made from silly mistakes and laughing them away. We Are thankful to have Elizabeth at our wedding as we will always remember how she made it a very memorable moment that we will stay with us forever.

💍 Three weeks. That’s how much time Carl and Laura had between deciding to get married and making it happen.

They came to PEI from Gatineau, Quebec, for a meaningful bike ride honouring deceased paramedics and raising awareness for mental health. With only three days on the Island, they decided to add another very special reason to be here — getting married. ❤️

And despite the very rainy weekend, this was no casual affair! When I arrived at The Merchantman, Carl and Laura were completely decked out for their wedding, surrounded by family and friends who had come to celebrate with them.

Carl’s sister led the commitment portion of the ceremony, while I had the honour of performing the legal part of their marriage.

Their wedding may have been a three-week decision, but there was nothing rushed about the way they celebrated it. It was a beautiful reminder that sometimes the most meaningful moments come together in ways you never quite planned.

Carl and Laura, thank you for trusting me with the legal part of your very special day. And I have to say, I love how you summed it all up:

“Thank you for all you do. We did it!!!” 💕

When your groom has just finished his beautiful, heartfelt vows…

The bride unfolds hers.

And proceeds to blow the dust off them. 😂

When the groom looked at her, completely puzzled, she simply said:

“It’s about time. I’ve been waiting so long.”

I have officiated a lot of weddings, but I have never had a bride make me laugh that hard in the middle of a ceremony.

And honestly? It was perfect.

Eight years together, a beautiful and intimate wedding, and a love story filled with adventure.

I love my job. ❤️

One of the things I love most about being a Marriage Commissioner is witnessing weddings that truly reflect each couple.

This backyard ceremony was unforgettable. With rolling fields stretching into the distance and an aisle lovingly created by planting flowers months before the big day, every detail was personal and meaningful.

A lighthearted moment from Robyn and Colton’s ceremony last year. Just as I said, “you may now kiss your bride,” an unexpected twist brought laughter from the guests and a wave of pure joy. These unscripted moments are often the ones everyone remembers most.

💍 My first wedding of 2026 took place on January 5th, and what a wonderful way to begin the year! ✨

I had the honour of officiating the marriage of Daniil and Hanna, who are both from Ukraine 🇺🇦. They chose to celebrate with an intimate ceremony in their home, with two close friends.

🏡 The decorations were absolutely beautiful. They transformed their space into a warm and welcoming setting that perfectly reflected the love and joy of the occasion. 🌿🕯️💐

There was also a moment that still makes me smile. 😊 In my rush to get ready, I hadn't thought to bring indoor shoes. Being a wonderful hostess, Hanna immediately came to the rescue and loaned me a pair of her fluffy slippers for the ceremony! 🩴💕 Afterwards, she laughed and said that next time she'd have a better pair of shoes waiting for me—then quickly caught herself as she realized this would be the only wedding I'd be officiating for her. 😂❤️

Thank you, Daniil and Hanna, for inviting me into your home and allowing me to share in such a meaningful moment. ❤️ It was a sweet and heartfelt ceremony that I won't soon forget.

💍 My last wedding of the season was a beautiful one — and a first for me at the historic Haviland Club.

🌸 The flower girl nearly stole the show with her irresistible sweetness, wandering down the aisle like she owned the place. But somehow, the moment the bride appeared — absolutely radiant — everything shifted. The love between her and her groom filled the room in a way nothing else could.

🐾 This couple loves a good adventure, and they made sure their ceremony reflected that — including a special (and very adorable) mention of their dog, Blue. The guests’ giggles were instant.

💒 As their marriage commissioner, it was an honour to celebrate such a heartfelt, joy-filled day with them. What a perfect way to close out the season.
