We had frost last week!!! I now know why they call this month May…. It may rain, it may snow, it may be frosty all in the same day… so far, we have only had frost one day this month… fingers crossed that we are done with the cold stuff. The hardy annual flowers are doing well; I was planting snapdragons in the rain and the earth was warm! Just the way they like it! Although I still dont know where I am going to plant all the seedlings which I have started! 😊 I have planted over 550 dahlia tubers, soooo exciting, lots of blooms coming your way!

Oh Yeah! this little tool with the auger has saved me alot of time! I can drill the holes and plant 100 tubers in under two hours! I am excited to see the green sprouts peaking thru the soil. In the meantime there are still flower seedlings to get into the ground, mulch to be added, weeds to be pulled... oh and I have to put the stakes in the ground for the netting! I have a big check list! 😍

Get this party started! Actually it is more like a marathon! I have unpacked the dahlia tubers which were stored in containers in the garage; there are more than 600 viable tubers that will need to find some soil! Good thing I have the handy dandy auger for drilling the planting holes! The plan is to get them in the ground before the 15th of May, although I still have a couple beds that need some work. Wish me luck! 😏

I have been enjoying all the warm sunshine while prepping the flower beds for planting. Some of the edge boards have been replaced, rototilled the soil and added composted manure to the beds.

I have transplanted some of the cool loving seedlings; Dara, bupleurum and Snapdragon. I hope I have enough room for all of the seedlings….good thing I have a dirt patch out back that I can use for the extras! When you save your own seeds it is easy to get carried away planting!! 😍😍😍

Finally the tulips are starting to bloom....another frosty morning but my "cool" flower seedlings are loving the temperatures with the sunshine! 😍

I couldnt help myself, I went to the Dahlia tuber sale in Black Creek and came home with MORE tubers! These two are going to rock the flower stand, say hi to Castle Drive and Lark's Ebbe!! 😃

Just a peak inside the cold frame, Cabbage, Brocoli, lettuce, snap dragons, Yarrow....the list goes on... everything is enjoying the warmer weather.😍

Let the sun shine in! I went for my morning walk; I was inspired by the salmon berry greens, wild plum blossoms and green ferns. I just had to add my daffodils to make the arrangement complete. My delivery guy dropped it off to a happy customer! 😁 I planted over a hundred daffodil bulbs over 30 years ago, I have enjoyed their spring message every day since! Happy Friday!

Spring has sprung; the daffodils are blooming, the worms are wiggling, the fruit trees are budding! We just have to get rid of all this rain 😏
