HEADS UP! TONIGHT'S RIVER CONCERT SERIES HAS BEEN CANCELLED DUE TO THE WEATHER 😢

TONIGHT'S SHOW IS CANCELLED
The Island needs the rain, but the weather is sadly not good news for an outdoor rock and roll show so we've had to pull the plug and cancel tonight's River Concert performance of Jim Legacy and La Chinga. Highway 19 Concerts and Indie Rock in the River will work together another time to bring La Chinga and more rock back to the River. Next up is the CR Jazz & Blues Festival with free music in Spirit Square and Downtown Campbell River Tuesday-Saturday.

The smoke is getting thick out there. 😷 Hoping the rain arriver sooner rather than later. See some tips below to protect your health from bad air quality. Also...the Campbell River Fire Department is asking you to not call 911 unless you need to report an actual fire.

Smoke levels are high in these areas:

- Comox Valley: includes Black Creek and Cumberland.
- East Vancouver Island (central): includes Nanoose Bay, Parksville, Coombs, Qualicum Beach, F***y Bay, Denman Island, Hornby Island, and Lasqueti Island.
- Inland Vancouver Island: includes Lake Cowichan, Nahmint, Port Alberni, central portions of Strathcona Park and Schoen Lake Provincial Park.
- Sunshine Coast (north): includes Quadra Island to Texada Island.

You may be at higher risk if you are:

- 65 or older
- Pregnant
- A young child
- Living with heart or lung conditions (like COPD) or diabetes
- Working outdoors

If you have coughing, shortness of breath, or chest discomfort, slow down and get medical advice by calling 8-1-1.
