Turns out the gals who run More are pretty good at catching dinner too.
For the third year, we closed up More Eatery , left the dudes behind and headed out for one of our favourite staff traditions, the Shannon Lim Women’s Fishing Derby.
14 gals from More where spread out in four boats for five hours of reeling in salmon after salmon. And somehow we managed to make ourselves pretty comfortable on the leaderboard:
1st + 3rd Chinook
3rd Coho
3rd Lingcod
and, because we’re nothing if not well-rounded, smallest salmon too.
The humpbacks put on a massive bubble-feed show, the weather was perfect, the sunset did its thing, and our guides kept us on the fish all afternoon.
By the time we got back to shore Chef Joe was waiting with an tasty dinner spread. We’ve never been happier to see the man.
Then it was dock party time.
A big thank you to our good pal Shannon, the visionary behind Shannon Lim, and her crew at for creating this ridiculously fun event and giving us an excuse to get the girls out on the water together every year.
Campbell River, you really know how to show a bunch of girls a good time.
