What's up Wednesday!
TOPIC: how to obtain a Special Occasions Permit (aka SOP) for your wedding.
Did you know that you can now apply for your SOP online?
Head to https://www.iagco.agco.ca/prod/pub/en/Login.aspx
and you'll have to create an account.
Once you activate your account, you can apply for your permit online :)
IMPORTANT REMINDERS when applying:
1) your wedding is a PRIVATE event, not public
2) If you are doing toonie bar, drink tickets that are purchased at the wedding or donation bar you MUST apply for a SALE permit. If you are having an open bar then you can get the NO SALE permit
3) If you are providing "bottle your own" or homemade wine / beer be sure to check off that box - it is allowed to be served as a wedding is considered a "religious event".

Today is and today I'm posting about the tradition behind the Bride's Bouquet.

"Did you ever consider walking down the aisle clutching a bundle of garlic and dill?

Well, if you're a stickler for tradition, you might want to think about it. Until modern times, brides did carry garlic and dill. The practice probably originated from the time of the Plague, when people clutched the herbs over their noses and mouths in a desperate effort to survive.

Survivors of great tragedy can affix tremendous protective powers to anything that has provided comfort, and the herbs made it into the ceremony marking renewal. Over time, brides added better-smelling flora to the arrangement, and a whole dictionary of meaning arose to define each type of blossom."

Happy Friday Everyone - its and today's spotlight is on Clarity Wine Events

Clarity Wine Events brings clarity to the "blurry" subject of wine.
Stephen likes to break some of the conventional wine "rules" and make wine tasting fun, entertaining and educational.
Stephen has traveled all over the world and has some amazing stories to share with his clients about different wines.
You can hire Clarity Wine Events for a number of occasions including (but not limited to):
- wedding rehearsal dinners
- birthday parties
- bachelor / bachelorette parties
- wedding showers
- family dinners
- corporate trainings
- charity events (Clarity for Charity)
- wine consultations to help you choose what to serve for your event

Because Stephen is not affiliated with any particular winery, you can explore more options and look at your wines based on: grape variety, region, old world vs new world, etc
Stephen also has some really fun theme nights like "blind tastings" or "tastes of your next trip".

If you are interested in finding out more about the services or how to book Clarity Wine Events check out their website or page listed here:

Check out these Detachable Dresses

"Wearing a more traditional gown down the aisle and then slipping into a slinkier number for your reception is all the rage right now. Enter the convertible wedding dress. Detachable skirts make for a seamless outfit change while also doing away with the hassle of bustling your gown. Jim Hjelm, Monique Lhuillier and Amsale are just a few of the designers who showcased this trend in their collections."
