Happy New Year followers!
So we had a great time off with family and friends, enjoying all the delicious food and drinks and celebrating life, but now we are back on track, working towards all our goals being healthy one of them! Here we leave you with a few tips that will help you get back on track!
1. Plan ahead and organize all your meals for the next day/week. When you are organized you won't feel the need to indulge in no so healthy foods.
2. Pack your day with veggies! They will give you fibre (makes you feel fuller longer), vitamins, minerals and antioxidants so important to get that "detox" that you are looking for. Choose all colours: tomatoes, carrots, squash, zucchini, bell peppers, broccoli, beets, radishes and the list goes on and on.
3. Don't forget your water! Stay away from sugary drinks such as sodas, beverages and juices. Choose a fruit over a juice. If you find drinking water boring add some fruits such as mandarines, oranges, lemon, raspberries, etc and some herbs such as rosemary, mint and basil. Choose a nice 1 L bottle and fill it twice, challenge yourself to drink it all and even invite some friends to join you.
4. Dedicate at least 30 minutes to move your body. Choose an activity that you enjoy and that you can commit to. When you exercise you release endorphins, happy hormones that will make you feel, well, HAPPY! Make it a challenge or competition with some friends, it will make you accountable. Try doing this for 21 continuos days and it will become an habit.
5. Take pictures and measurements now, it will make you feel so good when you reach your goal! Choose an outfit that doesn't fit anymore, put it somewhere you can see it everyday and every once in a while try it on, it will keep you motivated. Visualize yourself in this outfit. Do you want to wear it for Spring Break, Stampede, maybe a sunny warm vacation?
6. Last but not least, feel good in your own skin, be happy and work toward your goals, you can do it and we can help you get there!
