To the entire EDM Community,
Over the last 24 hours, a series of posts have surfaced regarding a vendor who has previously attended Bass Asylum events. We take this matter with the utmost seriousness and want to address it transparently and directly.
1. Effective immediately, this vendor is permanently banned from all future Bass Asylum events and will no longer have any affiliation with our organization or our partners.
2. Tonight's event will not proceed as our team has time to meet, review, and implement stronger safety and screening protocols for all future events. This includes introducing a third-party screening process for vendors, staff, and partners to ensure a safer environment for everyone.
We understand and share the community’s concern regarding safety. This incident has highlighted areas where we need to do better, and we take full accountability for the lapse in judgment that occurred. It does not reflect the values or vision that Bass Asylum was built upon.
Our mission has always been to create an inclusive, safe, and respectful space for all — and moving forward, we are committed to rebuilding that trust. We are listening, learning, and taking immediate action to ensure Bass Asylum remains a safe community for everyone.
This person cannot be named due to court order of Breach of Publication Access Bans under
Section 278.9, 486.6, 517, 539, 648 (CCC), 138 (YCJA) of the Crim. Code and Youth Crim. Justice Act.
