One thing I’ll always protect in a wedding day timeline: A little room to breathe.

A thoughtfully planned wedding day should have structure, but it should never feel overly scheduled. You shouldn’t be watching the clock or hurrying from one moment to the next, you should have the space to actually enjoy where you are.

Before I finalize the timeline, I always connect with the photographer to make sure we’re setting the day up for success from their perspective too. Enough time for portraits, realistic travel time to and from locations, and a little buffer for the moments in between.

This gives them time to wander a little further and to keep shooting when the light is just right. To enjoy being newly or nearly married without immediately needing to rush off to the next thing.

Some of the most beautiful photographs happen when there’s simply time for them to happen.

Her vision? Floral-forward 🌸
As a planner, I spend months with my couples looking at design decks, floor plans, linen samples, floral recipes, and what feels like a million tiny details. Then there’s the moment when all of those decisions finally come together and the space we’ve been imagining is suddenly right there in front of us.
The flowers led the design of this wedding from the very beginning. Every bloom was intentional, creating a space that felt romantic, layered, and completely immersive.
When we finally stepped back and saw the space finished, it took our breath away 🥹🤍

Easy hacks to make your wedding ceremony smoother & more meaningful… Save this post for when your day arrives ✨

1) Take your time walking down the aisle, savour that moment!

2) Don’t rush the kiss 💋 Hold it for a few extra seconds to make sure the photographer can capture it perfectly

3) Place your engagement ring on the other hand before you walk down the aisle, and after the ring exchange, slide the engagement ring back on after your wedding band!

4) If anyone’s hands are hot & swollen, don’t force the ring on your partner. Hold it at their knuckle, then have them finish putting it on.

5) Hold your bouquet at your bellybutton, tilt slightly forward (Bridesmaids, don’t let the bouquet creep up to your chest while you’re walking!)

6) Look at each other during the vows and repeat-after-me sections of the ceremony, it’s tempting to look at the officiant!

The truth about a “perfect” wedding?

It has very little to do with whether the napkins were perfectly straight, or if you missed the accent on canapé in your printed menus, or if the welcome bags did or did not have Ibuprofen in them.

Even for someone who takes immense pride in the details, I’ve learned that the most important part of a wedding isn’t the details at all.

After planning hundreds of weddings, I can tell you that the moments couples remember most are rarely the ones they spent months worrying about.

It’s the feeling of standing at the end of the aisle. The hug from a grandparent. The speech that had everyone crying. The beauty of your vows. The dance floor packed with the people you love most.

The weddings that feel the most meaningful are often the ones where the couple allows themselves to be fully present.

So - Hold your partner’s hand a little longer. Trust the team you’ve hired. Let go of the things that won’t matter in five years. Release the need to know or control every detail.

Your wedding day isn’t a performance to manage.

It’s a day to experience.

At the end of it all, a wedding only truly needs one thing: two people in love choosing each other. That what your guests are there to see, so have fun.

Everything else is simply there to support that story. 🤍

POV: You walk into your wedding design mockup at JYW 🤩

One thing we love to do for our destination couples is welcome them to the office to sip ch*****ne while we present a full décor mockup during their trip for tastings, venue visits, and trials. Seeing the design in person gives them the chance to experience the vision beyond the vision boards, make any final adjustments, and feel confident heading into the wedding day.

Sometimes it’s also the first time we get to meet our clients in person which makes it even more special 🤍

Watch us flip this ballroom from ceremony to reception in just 1.5 hours for 240 guests… 😳

Every chair, table, candle, and centrepiece was mapped out in advance. From florals, rentals, lighting and décor to catering and venue operations, over 35 people worked in sync behind the scenes — each team moving seamlessly around the next to bring the transformation to life.

While guests enjoyed cocktail hour in the next room, the ballroom was completely reimagined from top to bottom… and we finished with 8 minutes to spare. 💪

This is the kind of production that only happens when planning, logistics, and an incredible team come together. So proud of everyone involved in making this room flip happen so smoothly. 🪄
