This weekend marks Rob Young’s last Highland Games as he enters into retirement from competing.

Rob has been an integral part of the Highland Games Heavy Events community not only in Calgary but in Canada and internationally.

More then just a consistent top 3 Canadian professional competitor, he has represented Canada multiple times internationally, he has been a long time member of the Canadian Scottish Athletics Federation Board including serving as President, Vice President and in other roles served. Rob has been the athletic director of the Calgary Highland Games for years and was able to bring Men’s open national Championships to Calgary as well as many extremely highly competitive international competitions. Rob has been extremely supportive to new competitors in the Highland Games and was a wonderful coach to many of them! For 15 years Rob has been a huge part of Scottish heavy events in Western Canada and his energy, enthusiasm and shirtless parading will be missed on Highland Games fields around the globe.

Come on out Saturday to see a memorable game for Rob and to get an autograph and picture with the legend himself.
