✨🧙‍♀️ A little Practical Magic 2 has me feeling… well, a little magical! 🪄🔮

Watching it had me thinking back to our Victorian Witches Tea Party and all the wonderfully witchy tea magic we created together. From the atmosphere to the details, the treats, the tea and, of course, a little bit of whimsy… it was such a fun event! 🫖🕯️🌙

And now I can’t help but wonder… what tea magic might be brewing this year? 👀✨

Maybe a little spellbinding tea… perhaps some enchanting treats… and definitely a healthy dose of vintage teacup magic! ☕️🧙‍♀️💫

✨ A little behind-the-scenes gratitude today… ✨

Not every day in the world of catering goes exactly according to plan. Today, we had a little miscommunication with an order — and suddenly there was a whole lot of “Okay…how are we going to make this happen?” 😅

But this is where having an amazing team makes ALL the difference. ❤️

My incredible baker and catering teams jumped in, worked their magic, and pulled everything together just in time to create a delicious menu for today’s celebration. 🧁🥐🍓🫖

Was it the original plan? Nope.
Did we get there? Absolutely. 🙌

Sometimes things don’t go perfectly, but the right people beside you can turn a little chaos into something pretty darn wonderful. ✨

I was recently gifted this adorable teacup puzzle, and honestly… could there be a more me puzzle? 😂☕️🧩

Between collecting vintage china, creating tea settings, matching teacups and saucers, and spending far too much time admiring pretty patterns, I have a feeling I’m going to LOVE putting this one together.

I’m already picturing a cozy evening, a big mug of tea beside me, and puzzle pieces spread across the table. 🫖🍂

🍂🫖 Happy Labour Day Weekend, tea friends! 🫖🍂

With September here and a few new faces joining us lately, I thought it was time for a little “Who is actually behind all these teacups?” introduction. 😂

Hi! 👋 I’m Lacey! The woman behind The Travelling Teacups — which basically means I spend my days thinking about tea, vintage china, tiny sandwiches, pretty tables and wondering where on earth I’m going to store one more teacup. 😂🫖

Behind the pretty photos, there’s usually a dining room covered in china, tables piled with event supplies, menus everywhere and me saying, “I promise I know exactly where that teapot is.” 🤦‍♀️🤣

There’s packing, unpacking, washing approximately a million teacups, menu testing, hunting for the perfect vintage pattern and the occasional “PLEASE tell me nobody broke the good one!” moment. 😳😂

And somehow… I absolutely LOVE it. ❤️

Because at the end of all that chaos, I get to watch people gather around a beautiful table, pour a cup of tea and celebrate the people and moments that matter. 🥰🫖✨

Now for a fun fact about me…

🍁 Fall is my favourite season! 🍁

Give me crisp mornings, cozy sweaters, changing leaves, autumn colours, warm tea and all the fall flavours. Basically, if it involves a blanket and a cuppa, I’m interested. 😂☕️🍂

You’d probably assume Halloween is my favourite holiday, right? 🎃

NOPE.

Christmas. ALL. THE. WAY. 🎄❤️

Christmas china? YES. Twinkle lights? YES. Festive tables? ABSOLUTELY. An unreasonable amount of holiday decorating? …Don’t ask my family how many Santa’s I own. 😂🎄

So while I’m currently living my best autumn life, there’s already a tiny Christmas elf in the back of my mind asking, “When are we putting up the tree?” 🤣

We had the loveliest evening tucked away in the secret tea garden at Marlow Floral Works! 🌿✨

Surrounded by beautiful blooms, greenery, tea, and the warmest hosts, we spent the evening playing floral bingo — and honestly, what could be better?! 💐🎉

There’s something extra magical about discovering a little hidden space in the heart of the city, and Marlow’s tea garden is exactly that. A beautiful, welcoming escape that makes you feel like you’ve stepped into another world… right here in Calgary. 🌺🌿

There are so many reasons I love what we do at The Travelling Teacups, but one of the most meaningful is the little glimpse we get into a life well lived. 💕🫖

We are so grateful to Jean’s family for inviting us to provide the catering and vintage china rentals for her celebration of life. It was an honour to help create a warm and welcoming space where family and friends could gather, share stories, and remember someone so special. 🌸

We always appreciate the warm and welcoming space at Scarboro United Church, and this gathering felt especially meaningful as our clients have a long history with this community. 💗

Jean was an avid quilter, and I was immediately drawn to this beautiful quilt and its intricate pattern. 🧵🪡💐 It felt like such a lovely reflection of the creativity, patience, and love she poured into her craft—and a small reminder of the many beautiful pieces of a person’s life that live on through the things they create.

💗 A Little Appreciation for My Favourite Tea-Time Helper 🫖

Behind every beautiful Travelling Teacups event is a whole lot of love, hard work… and sometimes a very patient husband! 😂💕

My husband works as a Calgary Police Service dispatcher, and on his days off, when he could be relaxing, he often finds himself helping me with The Travelling Teacups — matching vintage teacups and saucers, loading and unloading, setting up and packing down events, and doing all those behind-the-scenes jobs that help make the magic happen. 🫖✨

It really is a family affair, and I feel incredibly lucky to have such amazing support around me. ❤️

The Travelling Teacups may have started with a love of tea and vintage china, but it has grown into something that so many people in my life help bring to life. Every event, every setup, every little detail has a story behind it — and often, a family member quietly helping somewhere in the background. 🥰

So today, I just want to say thank you to my husband for being my biggest behind-the-scenes helper, tea-cup matcher, event muscle and constant support. 😂💪🫖

One of the best parts of doing what I do is getting to connect with other local small businesses—and today I have to give a big shoutout to Sherri Busy Bee bakeshoppe Sherri Wold Berg The Busy Bee Bake Shoppe in Three Hills! 💛

When Sherri stopped by to pick up some china for an event this weekend, she was sweet enough to bring me a little surprise… mini cupcakes from her bakery! 🧁😍

And let me tell you… they were every bit as delicious as they looked! ✨ She had me at pistachio! 💚
