Tuxedo, we’ve got an exciting new art program ✂️

Zines 4 Teens is a four session art camp with a focus on creative expression without judgment, artistic technique, artistic skill building, community building, and fun with new friends.

Each session will be focused on a different artistic technique using various mediums. The techniques explored will be process art, collage, illustration, and zine making. All levels of experience are welcomed and all supplies are included.

This program has been developed by local multidisciplinary artist, Steph Love. Steph owns a private tattoo studio in the community of Greenview Industrial and has over 10 years experience as a career artist as well as over 20 years experience with youth care and programming.

⚡ Central Calgary Transmission Line Update

ENMAX has proposed 8 possible routes for the Central Calgary Transmission Line.

The Winston Heights-Mountview Community Association supports Option 8 as the only viable route because it buries the transmission line rather than placing overhead towers through established neighbourhoods.

Such a tragedy in our community 😢

🔵 ONGOING INVESTIGATION 🔵

We continue to investigate a fatal collision involving a vehicle, cyclist and multiple other parties that occurred yesterday afternoon.

📍 At approximately 1:35 p.m., on Saturday, June 20, 2026, a collision occurred in the northbound lanes of Centre Street N, between 19 Avenue N.E. and 21 Avenue N.E.

At that time, a black 2019 Ford Escape, driven by a man in his 70s, with a woman in her 60s as a passenger, was travelling northbound in the east curb lane. It is believed the driver suffered a medical event, causing the vehicle to drift onto the curb and strike a cyclist, a man in his 60s, who was travelling northbound in the same lane.

Investigators believe the vehicle mounted the sidewalk, striking a bus stop sign and continuing northbound, dragging the cyclist before re-entering the roadway near 20 Avenue N.E. The vehicle then travelled into the intersection at 21 Avenue N.E., where it collided with the rear passenger side of a stationary occupied Toyota Highlander, pushing it into a Chevrolet Silverado that was also stopped at the intersection.

The vehicle then mounted the curb again, entering the crosswalk and striking a pedestrian, a man in his 60s, before coming to rest after hitting a stop sign and another pole.

As a result of the collision, the cyclist was pronounced deceased at the scene. The driver of the Ford was transported to hospital in critical condition. The pedestrian sustained minor injuries. All other involved parties reported minor or no injuries.

At this time, there is no evidence that alcohol, drugs or speed were factors in this collision. We are investigating whether a medical event was a factor in the collision.

🌱 🎨 Two big things are happening on Neighbour Day and we want you to be part of both!

We’re thrilled to share that our community has been chosen as the first Community Association in Calgary to pilot a new City arts program. We’re launching it on Neighbour Day with a FREE outdoor art station where kids can sculpt their own clay bugs. Take yours home, donate it to the sensory garden, or both — it’s entirely up to you! While you’re there, pick up info on upcoming community art classes and share what you’d like to see by filling out a short questionnaire.

The TPCA is also planting a garden around the hall! We need your help to clean up the beds, prep the soil, and get everything planted. Here’s what we need:

🧤 Cleanup & bed prep — clear, w**d, and get the garden ready
🌱 Planting — put the plants in the ground and bring this vision to life
🐛 Budding artists — come sculpt clay bugs at the art station and help bring the garden to life creatively
🚛 Got a vehicle? We’re doing runs to the landfill for free mulch — a huge help!

Come be part of this garden and arts program from day one. Snacks and refreshments will be provided!
