Tonight: Learn the Art of Coloring Prosthetics!

We still have a few spots open for our makeup meet-up tonight at the shop. If you have ever felt intimidated by making a latex piece look like real skin, this is the perfect chance to practice in a relaxed setting.

Following up on our session last month where we focused on adhering and blending, tonight is all about the finish. We will be working on colouring latex prosthetics using two different methods: cream makeups and alcohol-based palettes. You will get to compare the application techniques for each and learn exactly when to use one over the other.

Whether you are a seasoned haunt actor or just starting your first cosplay, this is a great way to sharpen your skills and hang out with fellow creators.

When: Tonight, Thursday, April 30th

Time: 6:30 PM to 8:30 PM

Cost: $15.00

Included: All makeup supplies and snacks are provided. Our friends at Haunted Calgary are also bringing along complimentary coffee to keep us fueled while we work.

Join Our Three Part Casting Workshop Series!
Ever wanted to create a prosthetic that fits your face perfectly? We are hosting a hands on workshop series this May where you can learn the full process from start to finish. Over three sessions, we will guide you through the transition from a raw concept to a fully realized character.

What to Expect
Session One: Face Casting (May 7)
We start with the fundamentals. You will work with a partner to create a detailed life cast of your face using alginate and plaster. Our team will be there to help every step of the way. Please wear clothes you do not mind getting a bit messy.

Session Two: Sculpting (May 14)
With your custom face cast ready, it is time to get creative. You will sculpt a custom nose or feature directly onto your cast and then create a mold for your future prosthetic. This is a relaxed and fun evening of design.

Session Three: Prosthetics (May 28)
In our final meeting, you will pull your custom prosthetic from the mold and apply it. We will help you blend the piece and finish your character makeup for a final group photo.

Workshop Details
Dates: May 7, 14, and 28 2026
Time: 6:30 to 9:30 PM
Cost: $225.00 (This covers all your materials)

One lucky participant will also walk away with a special mystery makeup gift at the end of the final session. Space fills up quickly for these sessions, so stop by or contact the shop to grab your spot.

It was an incredible four days at Calgary Expo this year! From Thursday through Sunday, our booth was filled with so much talent and creativity. Here are a few of the amazing people who stopped by yesterday.

To everyone featured in our posts over the last few days, thank you for taking the time to visit us. Your costumes were spectacular and the level of detail you put into your work is truly inspiring. Seeing the community come together in full gear is always the highlight of our weekend.

Thank you to our friends at Haunted Calgary. They were wonderful booth neighbours and made the weekend even more enjoyable.
