“Hello im Nina, I am currently in the process of rebranding my music under the name Amarie, which is actually a mix of my first and middle names that I carry from my mothers lineage. When I was a kid, I used to perform & sing songs at recess and in my room. My favourite was Jar of Hearts by Christina Perry. I loved the melancholy. I have always been drawn to the darker side of things, and when I started writing poetry in school, that’s where a lot of it was based out of. I wrote about hard feelings I had not yet experienced, but which later ended up manifesting in my life.

Now, in my music, I try to create a balance of life giving vibes, and acknowledgement of the struggle that brought us all here. I like to relay my human experience in a truthful optimistic way because I really am just so honoured to be alive. Although, I did not always feel this way. I hold the duality of both extremes within me, and I love to share that with the world. Transformation is more than possible, it is truly a gift to change & grow.”

We asked Nina what Femininity means to her:

“Femininity is something i rejected for most of my life. Being the tomboy that I was, there was a huge part of me that thought being girly was lame and not something I could ever embrace. As I got older, I started to go on a vigorous journey of deep self love, and in that, I found the gem that is Femininity. It has truly opened me to a completely different side of life. One where intuition is most valued, emotions are keys, beliefs and words are power, and self expression is beauty. I have found a home here in my body, in mama nature and in healing. To me, Femininity is the embodiment of the divine mother in which we all deserve and long to be loved by. She is ruthless and soft simultaneously. She is something I strive to be.”

“I am a Kenyan born singer songwriter based out of YYC. From my technical training to my independent music career, I come alive when I am singing. I pull influences from the light and love around me, as well as spiritual content in my writing. I aim to heal myself and others with my vocals and lyrics. I have gained the tools to be a unique individual while connecting and relating with people from all walks of life. Singing is what I was born to do. It’s a blessing to share my gift with whoever will hold space for my message. Having just released my first project in April, please welcome your local Spiritual Gangster to the stage!”

“Hi, my name is Olivia—but my friends call me Liv.

I’m a British-Nigerian singer-songwriter, producer, and multidisciplinary creative based in Calgary, deeply infatuated with anything that moves the soul.

My musical style draws from R&B, Soul, Alternative/Indie, and Alté influences. I love experimenting with layered vocals, sound, metaphors, and storytelling.

I’m fairly new to the music scene here, and only started releasing music in 2024, but I’ve been singing my whole life.”

We asked Olivia what Femininity means to her:

“Femininity to me is perceivable energy that can’t be confined to a single textbook definition. It’s a fluid and powerful essence that is rooted in our collective identities as women, but shaped by our individual experiences and tied to our own unique expressions of womanhood.

I believe that we are at our most feminine when we become the best versions of selves—whatever that may look like—empowered by the things we’ve overcome in our journeys, and living from a place of self-love and self-acceptance.“

“Sparrow song is a folk songwriting project of raw and emotional music. Born out of a necessity to work through my life experiences, songwriting became my safety. I hope that through my music I can encourage others to stay in touch with their emotions as well.”

We asked Sparrow Song what Femininity means to her:

“I like to live my life as genuinely as I can. For me femininity is in tune with the Divine, but it is not delicate. It takes us back to our roots to be wild. There is beauty within us and to embrace and nurture who we are, as we are. I believe to embrace yourself is to be feminine.”

“I’ve always been a music head. I grew up immersed in everything from soul, hip hop and R&B to indie, alternative and punk. I love music that makes me feel something, regardless of the genre. That range of influence definitely shapes my sound, which so far falls under the alt R&B umbrella. But I still feel like I’ve only scratched the surface of what I want to explore. I never want to put myself in a box. I create what I feel, for me first—and then I share trusting it will find the people who need to feel it too.”

“Music has always been more than just sound to me — it’s connection, it’s energy, it’s where we find our sense of belonging. When I first stepped into the world of DJing less than two years ago, I didn’t just want to play tracks — I wanted to create moments. Moments where people can come as they are, feel something real, and leave with more than they came with.

I’ve found my voice through the rhythms of tech house, bass house, melodic house, and hardgroove. There’s something about those genres — the raw energy, the emotion, the pulse — that speaks to the soul and brings people together in a way that words can’t.

Every time I step behind the decks, whether it’s opening for well known artists, playing festivals, local events or just playing for friends, I carry that purpose with me through all those moments: to build something that feels like home on the dance floor. “I’m a 20-year-old singer with a deep passion for creating soothing, seductive music, heavily influenced by the R&B genre. I often like creating sped-up versions of my tracks, as I believe they reveal a different, more dynamic side of the music. I also enjoy weaving in pop elements to heighten emotional impact and give each song a more fulfilling feeling.”

“Lyrically, my work explores the beauty of feeling deeply—of inheriting and embracing emotions. My songwriting is rooted in storytelling, whether drawn from personal experience, imagined scenarios, or raw moments of vulnerability. I aim to give voice to those intimate, emotional spaces we all navigate.”

“To me, femininity means standing up for Women’s independence. Women are one of the greatest sources to life. We bring about an authentic nurturing feeling for others which creates a sense of sympathy in the world as a whole. It brings unity.”
