Showered in love (and petals)! 🌸

Throwing flower petals is so much more than a great visual moment. It’s an interactive guest experience where everyone gets to rain a shower of blessings over the new Mr. and Mrs.

This wedding practice actually goes as far back as ancient Rome, where guests would throw grain or seeds over newlyweds to symbolize fertility, abundance, and a fruitful marriage.

Over time, the tradition shifted to flower petals for a few reasons. Some were symbolic to add a new layer of meaning, like wishing the couple a sweet and beautiful journey ahead.

But I think it was more of a practical shift! Throwing hard seeds at the newlyweds is far less pleasant than being showered with soft, light petals. 🤍
