Good morning, KWC! Allow me to introduce myself.

My name is Amelia, and I am the sole proprietor and owner of Starry Crown Co! I started this company in December of 2024. It was me, my costumes, and the tiniest kit of makeup products. And, in May 2025, I registered as a business in Ontario!

Starry Crown Co is a face painting, entertainment and networking business designed to fulfill all of your party needs. Face painting? I've got you covered! Need a balloon twister? Maybe a princess? I know someone!😉

I have over 15 years of experience with kids, and over a decade of theatre and performance experience. I attended Sheridan College 2021-2022 for performance and theatre prep(PPAP). This experience allows me to truly help make your party the best it can be!

I am so proud of this company. It is small, yet mighty. My goal is simple- to bring back a little whimsy to this world. To spread magic and joy in a way that is easy, accessible, and safe.

All of my materials are FDA approved, professional and safe for skin. I am licensed, insured, and registered as a business in Ontario. I follow all regulations set by the government of ontario- so you can rest easy knowing that that hard part is taken care of!

🚫 WHY I DON'T PAINT KIDS UNDER 3🚫

It's always a sad day when I see a little kid SO excited to get their face painted!! And then I ask if they're under three... And I have to say no.

Their faces fall. And it breaks my heart. However, there is ALWAYS a good reason why.

Most face painters will NOT paint a child under three because...

🦺 The majority of insurance policies do not cover it. It is a liability and a risk for us, the event hosts, and the company we work for!

❗Their skin is too sensitive. Children under three do NOT have fully developed skin. This can lead to higher risks of breakouts, infections, and icky experiences.

🙂‍↔️ They cannot consent. Most children under three do not have the mental capacity to properly have informed consent or choose what they want- even if they are a smart cookie. The last thing we want is an unhappy, screaming child!

We want to make your day magical. But our first priority will always be SAFETY. For you, for your kiddies, and for everyone else. When a face painter says no, please be understanding- and remember this post!

As a business owner, I get it. Times are tough. You want to be able to provide a great experience for the people you care the most about. And while my prices are absolutely worth it, there are also always alternatives....

I'm human too! Meaning I have things that I value just as much as your patronage. Like learning a new skill, being able to buy groceries, or being able to directly invest back into my business!!

This list just scratches the surface. If you think you've got a service to trade, DM me! Let's bring back bartering, and make the magic happen for everyone.

Listen, we all love our older muses. But sometimes, we get a little lost in translation.😅

Whether I'm doing a free event or pay-per-face, I love chatting with the teens and older kids! Face painting is for everyone... Even if you do think I'm Unc. As long as it's in a cool way. I like to think I've got that rizz.

I'm so excited to announce I will be returning to Grand River Pride this year as their face painter!!

On June 13th, will be hosting an EPIC street party full of entertainment, art, local vendors and FACE PAINTING!!

"Anyone can pick up a paintbrush and do what you're doing."

I hear this a lot. People who are frustrated with the price of a service, with how long it takes, or upset when their vision isn't what they wanted. I get it!

The truth is, face painting takes more than just a paintbrush and some talent.

It takes practice. Dedication. Learned hands on skill, and the right professional tools. Training to make sure everyone- from the little muse sitting in the chair, to the parent watching with glee- is safe. Without it, we would just be someone weirdo putting paint on a stranger.

Sometimes, face painting looks like this... Staying up late on a weekend night to practice a new skill. To test new layouts and optimal setups.

There is no better way to get started or learn how to face paint than to get out there and learn!
