A Heartfelt Thank You from Angie & Wendy, Flowers by Gerry
After more than 15 years of pouring our hearts into our flower shop, it’s time for our next chapter.
Wendy is heading into a well-deserved retirement, and I’m off on some new adventures…Saying those words still feels a little surreal.
When I first started floral design 15 years ago, I never could have imagined the community we’d build together. Flowers by Gerry and Petals and Blooms has always been more than a flower shop — it’s been a gathering place, the spot to pop by, and for so many of you, part of life’s biggest moments. Birthdays, weddings, new babies, celebrations of life, or just a “thinking of you” bouquet… we’ve been so honoured to be part of your stories.
My daughter Sophie, now 17, grew up in my shops! From doing homework behind the counter, greeting customers, and sneaking treats for our little shop dogs… who also grew up in the shop as our little greeters. This place has always been a BIG family hangout. We’ve had different locations over the years, but no matter where we were in Brantford, it always felt like home.
If you’ve ever walked through our doors, you probably heard me before you saw me haha! My loud hello and big smile anytime someone walked in! These past few weeks, as we’ve gone through old photos and memories, I’ve been overwhelmed by the faces, the families we’ve connected with, the hugs, the laughter, and the incredible support.
As we announce our goodbye, this isn’t the end of Brantford beloved Flowers by Gerry; We’re thrilled to be passing it on to a wonderful family who will continue the heart of this shop. Knowing it will remain a place where flowers and people come together in the most beautiful ways means the world to us.
Our hearts are whole as we announce our last day in the shop will be October 29. Until then, we’ll be soaking up every moment!!
