*VOLUME ON* if you want some sound therapy. Welcome to the day and night view of my outdoor sanctuary - this is where my love of flowers lives in my personal time. It’s a labour of love. Even now, late in the season when soon Mother Nature will force me to put my gardens to bed for the winter, there is still so much beauty to enjoy. As the autumn chill sets in the air and clouds start to take over the fall sky during the day, I still love listening to the sound of the running water of the fountains, the birds chirping, the bees circling around my flowers in bloom and have even had a visit from a Monarch butterfly. I watch the chipmunks and squirrels rustling about - who knows what they have planted in there that will come up next year 😊. But especially in those quiet moments with the sound of the fall leaves crunching under my feet while I walk around my garden, it brings an inner peace and love of nature I never get tired of. This feeling no matter what time of year is exactly why I love what I do 🍂🍁🍃💐🌻

This weekend I had the joy of designing the floral arrangements for a very special engagement celebration — and these two made it easy. Every stem was chosen with their love story in mind. I’m IN LOVE with these gorgeous tinted roses. What you don’t see is the behind the scenes time and care it takes for a florist to get flowers to their fullest potential to make the most beautiful arrangements. These flowers are getting ready for a weekend event. But I don’t mind because while Mother Nature does her thing opening these beauties up, I get to watch them bloom like a fall sunset 🧡🌅

A weekend spent learning, creating & growing✨

I had the opportunity to take part in an Advanced Wedding Floral Workshop this past weekend CANADIAN INSTITUTE OF FLORAL DESIGN with the amazing Joezel Yumul WPICC CAFA CIFD WFC instructor - refining new techniques, exploring elevated wedding designs, and continuing to grow my skills as a floral designer 💐

I’m always so excited to stay connected to the school, through supporting as a Teacher’s Assistant or attending workshops. It’s always great to come back and to see the Alumni of the school come together.

There’s always something new to learn in this beautiful industry, and I can’t wait to bring a little of this fresh inspiration into future weddings at Destiny Blooms, Designs by Sandy. 🤍

Eleven years ago today, I married the man who has helped me shape my dreams into reality. What I didn’t realize then was that saying “I do” was not just us committing to each other and blending our families, it was also the moment I said yes to Destiny Blooms Designs by Sandy and didn’t even know it.
The flowers started small. I designed the silk centerpieces for our reception. Rounded aisle markers lining our pathway to the ceremony and even the floral details on our favours. I decorated each piece as my vision for our perfect day unfolded. What I realize now is that it wasn’t just wedding decor - it planted the seed.
For over a decade, that seed has been quietly growing — through corporate life, through family seasons, through seasons I couldn’t even name. Every flower I touched, every design I imagined, every moment I felt alive arranging something beautiful — that was the real story unfolding beneath everything else.
This Saturday, July 25th, I’m launching my website. And I’m finally saying out loud what those silk flowers whispered eleven years ago: this is who I am. This is what I’m meant to do.
The journey wasn’t linear. It wasn’t always visible. But it was always there — blooming in the background, waiting for me to catch up.
Here’s to the long game. Here’s to the flowers that knew before I did. 💐✨
