Chameleon's Cove

Chameleon's Cove Chameleon's Cove monthly open stage event is held in Bancroft, Ontario, Canada. All photographs here, unless otherwise specified, are by Kathy Figueroa.

Chameleon's Cove, which was essentially a monthly open mic revue, was created by a Bancroft-area musician, Abe Drennan, in 2005. Along with organizing the event, he also hosted and performed at each show. In 2006, he handed control and management of the event over to a committee of local folks who were interested in seeing Chameleon's Cove continue to provide an opportunity for musicians, poets, s

torytellers, and the like, both established and those just starting out, to perform in front of an audience. (It was also great, free entertainment for the community.) Eventually, due to the time and effort necessary to maintain the continuance of this show, only a few committee members remained: Jerry Cutler, musician Sue Lyons (Jerry's wife), and poet Kathy Figueroa. With Jerry and Sue's moral support, Kathy continued to organize and promote this event for many years. This Chameleon's Cove page is now, essentially, an archive for photos, newspaper clippings, and related info. It's possible that, at some point in the future, Chameleon's Cove might be revived, but on a less frequent basis, perhaps as an annual "reunion" featuring some of the talented folks who contributed their musical and performance skills to make Chameleon's Cove such a popular event.
