πŸ‘°β€β™€οΈπŸ€΅β€β™‚οΈπŸ’ Aleah & Daniel's gorgeous September wedding in Van Dusen Gardens was the grand finale to our 2025 wedding season. Their personal flowers had already been picked up from my studio that morning, so hubby & I brought all the decorative arrangements to the venue for placement.

Truth be told, the ex*****on of this floral project was challenging at times & it carried over to the delivery. Unfortunately, we encountered a major traffic delay enroute to the city & our plan to arrive before the guests failed miserably. They were already seated in anticipation of the ceremony when we rushed in with the two podium arrangements to hastily place them. Phew!!

Thankfully, after that stressful situation, placement of the 64 bud vase arrangements was a breeze with the help of one of the coordinators from the Power Of Three (very lovely ladies) company. As we were finishing the task, we could see the processional and caught the beginning of the ceremony. It was beautiful!

My interactions with this sweet couple were most delightful ... from our very first meeting & through to wedding day. I greatly enjoyed working with them to achieve their floral wishes, and serving them was a heartfelt pleasure.

It's been very apparent that Aleah & Daniel adore each other, and their photos speak volumes of that adoration. I sincerely wish them more love and happiness than they ever thought possible throughout their marriage. Cheers, you two! πŸ₯‚β€οΈπŸ’ŸπŸ’š

πŸ‘°β€β™€οΈπŸ€΅β€β™‚οΈπŸ’ The first of the double header wedding day deliveries on September 27th was for Melissa & Brandon who tied their knot at the lovely Bridlewoods Event Center. This adorable bride came to me through a recommend from her aunt who was another of my brides from a couple years ago. She came with Melissa for the consult and it was a great reconnect.

In case I haven't mentioned it before, l love a duo of green and white with it's fresh & classy appeal. So I was happily on board with Melissa's vision for her wedding flowers. The couple's choice of venue was also top notch and it was a treat for me to revisit this splendid place to bring all the florals for presentation to the bride. Melissa looked absolutely radiant and was over the moon when she saw her bouquet. Her words of pleasure was music to my ears & my weariness went away in those moments. πŸ’

πŸ‘°β€β™€οΈπŸ€΅β€β™‚οΈ B&B wrapped up the 2025 wedding season with a whirlwind πŸŒͺ at the end of September. At least it was for me due to a crazy three days of flower prep, designing and deliveries for two couples who wed on the same day. I worked straight through the night before but, unlike a bee 🐝 who can fall asleep on a flower 🌼when it gets tired, there was no chance for this busy bee ... me ... to even have a rest. After the 64th bud vase was filled, I had to get things ready for the first set of flowers to be picked up in the AM, followed by a delivery to Chilliwack (almost) around noon, and a second delivery mid afternoon to Vancouver, along with set up at the venue there. That's another story.

Needless to say, I was exhausted πŸ₯±. Later that evening, at home & perfectly comfy, I conked out 😴. Not on a flower, but on the couch.
Despite the push to accomplish all my tasks, I somehow managed to snap photos of arrangements before they left my studio on wedding day. Pics of the flowers and the couples will be in upcoming posts. πŸ’

πŸ‘°β€β™€οΈπŸ€΅β€β™‚οΈ πŸŒΏπŸ’ Next up in our September run of weddings was a ceremony in the forest which my adventurous couple, Shanise & Alex, chose for their 'I Dos'. It was a glorious sun kissed morning when hubby & I headed out for the trip with all the flowers on board.

It was a bit of drive to get to the location just north of Yale. With the help of Shanise's detailed directions & photos of road signs & markers, we navigated down the Fraser Canyon to a turnoff shortly after passing through the Saddle Rock Tunnel (2nd tunnel northbound). We parked beside the railroad tracks and took advantage of a few strapping young men to carry the swags and box of bouquets down the shaded path to a clearing in the trees above the Fraser River. Wooden benches were there to receive guests and the arch for flowers. But this time, the task of attaching the swags was not ours, and I simply gave some guidance to the placement.

Then the flowering up of the peeps began with many boutonnieres & corsages to be matched to their recipients.
A make shift 'room' with tarps tied to trees was where I found the bride & her entourage in preparation for the ceremony to begin. Shanise looked absolutely ethereal standing there before me in her wedding dress with sunlight filtering through the canopy of leaves above her. When her gaze fell on her resplendent bouquet, her expression said it all. She. Was. Smitten! And I was thrilled!
With the delivery complete, I bid the bride farewell with my best wishes, and emphasized to the photographer that I greatly anticipate seeing her captures of this day.

On a side note.
Heading back up the path to leave the site, I felt the call of nature. Oh great! Up a short incline, there was this rustic little shack that some guy had constructed for fishermen who frequent the area. Since we were some miles away from modern comfort, I thought it was wise to at least check it out. No door, and open to the wind (but facing a hill), I found TP wrapped in a plastic bag placed inside a coffee can (with a lid) attached sideways to the wall. Quite ingenious, I thought. Needless to say, I've been in worse situations, and I left that little shack feeling much better. 😊

This was definitely one of the most memorable flower deliveries in the history of B&B weddings. I'll call it an 'adventure' that was uniquely fun, beautiful, gratifying and even a bit whacky.

The best of wishes to Shanise & Alex as they experience many wonderful adventures throughout their marriage. Cheers! πŸ₯‚πŸ’

I will be eager to post photos of their day as soon they are shared with me.

πŸ‘°β€β™€οΈπŸ€΅β€β™‚οΈπŸ’ We kicked off the month of September weddings with Kaitlyn & Ethan's nuptials. There were some familiar faces at the venue when I delivered the flowers because it was just last summer when I designed the arrangements for Kaitlyn's sister's wedding. Spin offs are great, especially when they happen in the same family for their special occasions. There's a bit of a rapport that develops & it's nice to be entrusted with this beautiful part of their day.

And this was the perfect example. Kaitlyn came to the consult with her mom & sister and it was pleasantly reminiscent of a previous meeting. But Kaitlyn's vision was unique to her with a more classic style of a round hand tie bouquet comprised mostly of ivory roses.

Another happy bride and a grateful heart (mine) gave me the inspirational boost when I made the delivery on wedding day.
Congratulations to Kaitlyn & Ethan on tying the knot,
and the best of wishes to them in this new chapter of life together. πŸ’οΏΌ

πŸ‘°β€β™€οΈπŸ€΅β€β™‚οΈπŸ’ For throw back Thursday I'm remembering this beautiful day at the end of July in 2020. That year was very disruptive to say the least, but it did not deter Sylvie & Jon from following through with their plans to get married and celebrate the occasion with family & friends.

I was grateful for the opportunity to be a part of their day through the beauty of flowers and it was a real joy to work with Sylvie in accomplishing her vision which, I thought, was pretty awesome. Her desire for deep shades of red immediately had me thinking burgundy dahlias. But would they be blooming yet at the end of July? Well, they were and I was able to snag a few for Sylvie's stunning bouquet. Burgundy carnations were the perfect go-to for the bridesmaid's bouquets and the swags for the arbor.

And, of course, that gorgeous venue is one that I'm very fond of, so I was delighted with the request to deliver all the arrangements for presentation to the bride and groom and placement of all the decor before the guests arrived.
This is one of many wedding day memories I will always treasure! πŸ’–

Although we are stepping through a door into a new season of change and blessings, I have that familiar sense of melancholy when we flow into September. So I will savor every bit of Summer that's left and thoroughly welcome the opportunities before me to create for four more weddings this month. The first one up is this coming Saturday.

Blessings everyone! πŸ§‘πŸ‚πŸŒ»πŸ§‘
